Anyone else think destiny was a cheap knock off of defiance?

Just played the beta over the weekend and cancelled my pre order. Its like they tried to take defiance and changed some sprites. Then made main areas instance based. And finally slapped a new game name on it calling it destiny.

Everywhere from the vehicles boosts random chests with drops. My god it pissed me off that its so similar. Bad thing is bungie has a huge advertising budget and will pobably get tons more players even if defiance is so much better well made.

Am i going nuts or does anyone else see it like this?

I've been watching a lot of gameplay vids of Destiny, and my honest opinion is that it lacks soul.

Defiance may be flawed, but it's the people and friends that keep me coming back.

If I understand the Destiny storyline a magic space ball makes people into superheroes to fight aliens. I'm sure you could find parallels with many scifi storylines out there but I doubt they are all rip-offs.

Defiance is awesome and Destiny is something, just move on and stop comparing.

I love the Defiance world a lot. I pretty must fell in love with the post apocalyptic atmosphere. And I still have a blast playing it and won't drop it for Destiny.

Exactlly like you say, watching isn`t the same as to actually play the game, and comparing the two games is ridiculous, they are nothing alike lol.

I never talked about Destiny in this forum untill i played the Alpha, people have been talking about destiny since last year in this forum and i never said one word about the game because i can`t talk about things that are not yet.
I don`t HYPE about nothing, i deal with facts.

When i played the Alpha, then i was dealing with the fact that the game exists and i felt something different. I felt that the companie that developed the game had taken the time to study PS platforms and they did a superb work with what they had at hand.
Let`s stop with the excuses that the problems with Defiance on PS3 are the PS3, it`s not. It was/is bad coding of the game and nothing else.
Destiny looks amazing compared to Defiance on the PS3, and why!? Because they tooke the time to learn and make a good work on that platform.
Another ridiculous statement that i heard alot is that Destiny has the excelent look that it has becaus it has less players because the console can`t handle...etc, bs, etc.
The PS3 currently still has the record of number of players in a single map, that game was called MAG and it could handle 256 players in the same event, i used to play that game.
