Do not buy tier 4 lockboxes! Buy tier 3 instead!

Tier 4 Lockbox - 64 keys - rewards 4 random items of at least uncommon rarity.

Tier 3 lockbox - cost 24 keys - rewards 3 random items of at least uncommon rarity.

At the cost of 48 keys you get 6 chances at loot, and at the cost of 64 keys you get 4 chances at loot?

After experimenting at trying them out myself I found absolutely NO difference between the quality of items found in the tier 4 lockboxes and the tier 3 lockboxes.

Bought 5 Tier 4 lockboxes and 5 tier three lockboxes. Same average quality of items, EXCEPT the tier three lockboxes reward FAR FAR more loot!

In fact someone else running this same experiment got their first legendary item from, you guessed it a TIER 3 LOCKBOX and NOT from a tier 4 lockbox!

I REPEAT TIER THREE LOCKBOXES REWARD LEGENDARIES SO WHAT IS THE POINT IN WASTING METRIC SHTAKO TONS OF KEYS ON TIER 4's?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

How in the name of the golden diapered baby jeebus did this make it through alpha and beta testing?!?!?!?

Is this working as intended in an attempt to encourage people to dump cash into the game to buy keys to purchase more boxes or has it just been bypassed for the past year of testing?

The only crafting system, and the main way to get the best loot is broken? Through Alpha AND through beta?

This is 100% completely unacceptable in any way shape or form.

This needs serious attention urgently!

And reading the tooltips on the boxes it mentions NOTHING absolutely NOTHING about having higher chances of better gear through the more expensive boxes.

TL;DR Buy tier three lockboxes, collect legionaries ???? profit.

I have not tried out tier one in any experimental manner and don't know if anyone else has either. If anyone has gotten a legendary from a tier one please post it here.

Yeah I would like to see an official post on this, and if the higher tier boxes in fact have higher chances for more rare loot then put it in the damn tool tip. A lot of information in this game is simply non existent. Like I started to finish some contracts and nothing explains what the hell it is. Then stores get new looking currencies that I can't find in my char information and that I do not know what it is and how I get it.

It really lacks descriptions for the most basic things.

"Rare" loot, lol. You don't get **** until lvl 200. Most people don't even know shields can have different effects, because well...you don't get them till too late into the game

Just did a search and found someone saying they are getting legendary items out of tier 2 lockboxes!

Also further on down in that same thread more people are talking about getting orange weapons out of tier 3.

I think this talk of tier 4 giving a higher chance for orange items is complete crap.

If I can buy 50 Tier ones for the same price as one tier 4 I will end up having enough keys from melting down all the guns to buy another 20 tier ones and have a MUCH higher chance to get orange weapons.

Need someone official to comment on this. Need a PROGRAMMER who specializes in lockbox game coding to get in here and comment directly on this issue A.S.A.P.

Considering how important lockboxs play as an integral part of the game (I.E. no crafting in the game, no legendaries from Arkfalls, No legendaries from faction rep)

well say you have 75 keys and you plan on buying lockboxes whats the best route to get the best bang for the buck so to speak well lets add it up

75 keys

Teir 2 lockboxes 75/8=9.3 so 9*2= 18 chances of getting what you want
Teir 3 lockboxes 75/24=3.1 so 3*3=9 chances of getting the items you want
Teir 4 lockboxes 75/64= well 1 so 4 chances to get the item you want

hmm my first legendary combat shotgun came from a teir 2 and on my 3rd try its completely random yet you have higher chances and more items from teir 2 lockboxes

i find tier 3 the best option currently - it has higher chance for rare, yet it doesnt cost as much. So the rare rate vs amount is better.
Also dont forget that you can refine all the junk weapons = gulanite and 1k gulanite = 1 key - so tier 3 box would be even mroe cost effective.
the tier 4 should ether have a boost in blue, less green, 5 pieces or reduced price.
