Do not buy tier 4 lockboxes! Buy tier 3 instead!

I have not tried out tier one in any experimental manner and don't know if anyone else has either. If anyone has gotten a legendary from a tier one please post it here.

i only buy tier 2
and got 2x orange , 4x purple and bunch of blue and green..
im rank 500+ so opened many boxes but seems same loot

Yeah I would like to see an official post on this, and if the higher tier boxes in fact have higher chances for more rare loot then put it in the damn tool tip. A lot of information in this game is simply non existent. Like I started to finish some contracts and nothing explains what the hell it is. Then stores get new looking currencies that I can't find in my char information and that I do not know what it is and how I get it.

It really lacks descriptions for the most basic things.

What contracts are and how they tie into the factions, as well as the existence of faction reputations, are all covered in the "help" tab of the Intel window. It's not that the information's not there, it's that you didn't find it. Really, the Help tab has lots of information on nearly everything, including (especially) stuff that isn't directly covered in in-game tutorials.

Tier 4 has a much better chance of getting epics and a slightly increased chance of getting legendaries.

• Tier 3 boxes cost 24 keys and give 3 items = 8 keys per item
• Tier 4 boxes cost 64 keys and give 4 items = 16 keys per item
• When you say Tier 4 has better chances, those chances have to be twice as good as Tier 3 boxes

• If each item in a Tier 3 box has a 5% chance to be legendary, then each item in a Tier 4 box must have a 10% or higher chance to be legendary; otherwise, Tier 4 become horrible purchases. It all comes down to the math of chance-of-legendary per key used
• It's all about getting legendaries, not epics

Keep up the good work in documenting kind sir, This is a very amazing stat right here. One orange our of 30 boxeish... thats very low, thats 1 out of 60. I know my friend on his first tier 4 got an orange, and when I tested tier 4 in beta, I bought 5 of them and got 3 oranges. I would like to see a similar breakdown of tier 3 as this guy did.

I bought a Tier 4 lockbox and got an organge assault rifle, but my character is only around 320 ego rating.

I like that the keys are limited, because that way you can buy lockboxes at low levels.

People should be posting their rank when buying the boxes. You may have a zero percent chance to get an orange below a certain level.

I always buy Tier 3 Lockboxes. Costs less keys than the Tier 4 and you can buy at least two of them instead of only one Tier 4.

Before this last time the server went down, I got an orange Detonator in the Tier 3 lockbox. My EGO was 500 and something when I bought it, IIRC.

Do lots of arkfalls and random events on the map to get keycodes. As for money, do arkfalls, look for minibosses and do quests.
