As someone who also played a lot of other online games (both monthly and free to play), i dont recommend investing time in this one. This patches updates made it very hard to obtain much of anything in game. (halfed rewards, lower drop rate on items, harder to obtain score, buyable items 10x the old price)
The game is a good example of a bad western take on free to play games.

Typical free to play games will have advantages or cosmetic stuff you can buy for cash. (the better ones even make those tradable ingame). This one just doesnt allow you to obtain much at all ingame, forcing you to pay cash or spend ridiculous amount of time to get little.

Indeed I am aware of the current situation regarding drops.
Unfortunate to see another game with potential killed by greed and poor market planning.

Even wanted to bring some of my friends over here since I'm the one in our group that hunts for new games thanks to my extra free time but not anymore I guess.

Devs these days fail to understand that they should lure in players with a good and fun game while using microtransactions for cosmetics and instead prefer to hide half of the "fun" behind a pay booth(and don't tell me its otherwise because with the current arkforge drop rates its basically pay or continue in demo mode).

At least this time it went down before I wasted a few hundred hours on the game.
Gonna hang around for a few days to see if the community starts any king of protest (and to see if it actually works) but if the rates stay the same I'm out.

The former isn't necessarily a reflection upon their actual aptitude as software engineers and programmers so much as it is by the fact that all of the original senior development team was laid off shortly after the game launched so the current staff wasn't as familiar with the game engine and coding for the game as could be. As a result implementation of suggestions has been slow, real slow. By way of example a correction to a rather obvious error in the way one of the EGO powers worked in PvP has only just been corrected with this update after it was reported and acknowledged many months ago.

Another factor is that the lead developer for the game, and possibly others on the team, seem to be completely out of touch and/or out of synch with what the players actually want, so on top of not addressing issues and implementing features in a timely fashion, they are prone to fabricating issues or distorting them to fit their own concept of what direction to take the game in even if it conflicts with what many if not most of the players want.

The push has only become extremely hard since the game began preparing for free-to-play mode for obvious reasons. Like most free-to-play games the push is actually focused on a minority group of players that tend to spend a huge amount of money on micro transactions with predictably negative impact on every one else's gameplay.

They are fairly often but not particularly broad or deep with some as simple as a single Episode mission with cutscenes and one new instance. Up until now there was no land expansion.

As long as you keep a respectful tone you should be okay. There are some basic explicit rules in the CoC which you can read by clicking on it at the top of the page for the forums. Occasionally a warning or infraction may be issued that leaves you scratching your head but most of them are understandable if not entirely agreeable.
    I agree with this

And regarding my last question: I have to plans to flame on these forums or to be rude.I was merely asking because I know at least 2 free to play games where if you post something that the developers may not like to hear you get the hammer ,your thread gets moved and buried in a forums section that's rarely visited, or even better "locked to preserve feedback".

I'm also glad to find out that the community isn't full of yes-men.
I think you have to worry with some Knights that patrols the forum defending the honor of the all mighty Dev.
You don`t have to worry about the devs, you need to worry with possible infractions because you upset some fanboy and they feel so outrageous that they just report you.
Like Deunan says, you`ll be scratching your head trying to figure why you got infracted.

Welcome to Purgatory, Hell is the next stop...i meant to say, welcome to the forums.

The community are wonderful when they collectively show their disgust for the direction of this game.

True.I'm really sad to finally find a game with a good community only to have the game ruined one major patch later.

You cannot image how much of a breath of fresh air these forums are compared to where I've been before.

You'd get skinned alive by shills that put 1000$+ into the game the second you dared question the direction in which the game was going and as I've mentioned before the forum police was full blown commie propaganda mode.Dozens of threads moved to "proper forum sections" and left to die, popular suggestion threads (as in several hundred upvotes popular) that the devs did not like were closed with a message along the lines of "lel ok we get it saving this thread and sticking it on the fridge or something" etc.

So yeah finally finding a game with forum-goers that think for themselves is nice.I just hope the player numbers start dropping enough and they fix the rates back.Player pop and retention drops and usually the scariest thing for f2p games so unless they just milk whats left from the dedicated players that invested too much time to quit and then bury the whole thing they will have to fix everything back again.
