    Unable to patch, error code 1008

    I am not able to download the latest patch for the game, keeps getting the error message that says "There was a problem moving existing files in preparation for the update. (Error #1008)"
    I've tried the repair function, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, add the Glyph client as an exception to the firewall and such, but nothing's worked.

    This is often caused when multiple versions of the game launcher are attempting to run simultaneously.

    Can you use Ctrl + Alt + Del and open your Task Manager? With it open, launch Defiance and see if multiple versions of Defiance.exe are running. Multiple versions of GlyphClient.exe?

    If so, end the process for one of them and try the update again. Make sure to run though our Glyph troubleshooting steps for additional suggestions.

    Didn't work and I already tried the things suggested in the troubleshooting guide.

    If you haven't, make sure to submit a ticket and describe the steps you've already taken to avoid duplicate steps.

    Well here's a bit of a surprise, I was actually to patch the game now.
    I launched Glyph and it downloaded some sort of patch for the program and then I tried updating Defiance and it was able to patch.
    So that problem is out of the way now.

    got the same problem since this mornig, Rift works fine, but Defiance just gives me the "errror #1008"

    Also https://support.trionworlds.com/app/...tail/a_id/1744 gives me Oops.The page you were looking for doesn't exist.

    Try this page instead.
    Go ahead and give those steps a shot, as well as checking your task manager for any duplicate programs that may be running.

    I've done all of the recommendations on that page, but the error still pops up upon trying to patch Defiance, I don't know what else to try.

    #1008 never ending problem

    I am trying to reinstall Glyph/Defiance after uninstalling it a couple of years ago. I keep getting the #1008 error. Tried everything on the Glyph troubleshooting page and more. Help?
