I've been playing more summoners war on my phone than defiance lately, looking forward to destiny on the one but wont fire that up until sept 9th, i'll prolly always look back at defiance and see if anything changes but mostly will kindof laugh at this point... not even being negative for a long time I got my moneys worth in fun AND friends from this game but lately I just seem to be trolling the same old forest looking for deer when I already shot them all last week...

Honestly, I think they're so busy trying to solve the lag issue, and some of the other bugs, that major game updates aren't even on the table. But I'll happily be proven wrong.
And I think a lot hinges on the show being renewed for season 3. And there's still no decision on that, which isn't a good thing.
honestly, I've reached a point in my existence where I could give two farthings about any new game coming out on the market. The industry has changed, and not for the better.
Out of the past few games that have been released for multi platforms, very few, have managed to deliver a near reasonable quality product. It feels more and more like industry developers are throwing carp up against a wall, and waiting to see what sticks and what doesn't. Sure we're getting a lot of new games....but it's mostly extreme hype marketing to cover a substandard product. A quick grab for player dollars, while they throw more smelly carp against the wall looking for the proverbial "auto cash cow"
Meanwhile, we the player, endure an endless buffet of insults, poor quality fare, and lackluster shineys to curb our hunger for entertainment, while starving from lack of substance....it's a sad sad state of affairs.

Star Trek Online is a great example of this. It seems like every 4 months or so, they are releasing something new. Add to that they have "give aways" from their cash shop. Also, they tun a "grind" fest event. For example currently you have to fight a large crystal critter 14 times [once a day]. The purpose is so you can collect a piece of the crystal, which drops just once a day.
You get 14 of them and turn them in. You get some "neat' stuff that is useful, and some not so neat stuff.
Trion could do something like that in Defiance, with a contract. Go kill X number of Dark matter, and you'll get 100 Arkforge. But just to keep people logging in daily they could say, kill 100 dark matter. But there is a limit of 10 a day. So you run to Frisco, kill 10 dark matter and your grind is over that day. I used arkforge, because it seems a lot of people want it.
Or go kill 10,000 skitterlings and you'll get your very own Hellbug plushie mailed to you. Just include 15 bucks shipping and handling.
Things like that just might encourage people to log in daily.
Heck, even the nearly 20 year old Ultima Online still releases a story line [no new content], a few times a year. The story line can be compared to missions or quests in Defiance, like finding the cure, hunting Nolan down.
Daily/weekly contracts, tracked in a full pursuit with an item reward would accomplish this. Complete 10 weeklies, each weekly requiring 5 dailies of 10 kills or something. The Defiant Few contract/pursuit works like that, more or less, but the contract system is a little cumbersome IMO. If there were something to draw a little more attention to it, like a loading screen or something at character select to draw attention to some interesting things you can do today, show off the "cool" reward (and/or maybe new additions to the bit store) it might be a bigger draw.
Or even during play, instead of just putting events on the map or local area, maybe send a broadcast message in the alert area (where pursuits and inventory messages popup) that an event you might need is happening and where it is, in addition to the HUD markers
So the same as a year ago.
A bunch of hot air.
"We've got a few things on the horizon for Defiance." exactly the same they have said last year in September, they have also said before SV - this is the standard response from TRION and should only say: We have no idea even what we should do with DEFIANCE.
"First, we're focusing on stability and security." yes the say and `try` it has been for a good 18 Moanten, but now the men can - clear and I'm Santa Claus.
It is becoming increasingly clear that TRION consists only of bunglers.
The biggest mistake could make the TRION - and what they up to now them, and DEFIANCE will break your neck problems and makes - it was like to throw After release of DEFIANCE the entire development team out.
Ironically, the people who the creative mind behind this project were from but.
Now we can see what WE have it.

Alright, Trion. This is my last bump to this thread. My guild is 99% decided on moving over wholesale to Firefall and leaving Defiance entirely.
Tell me why I shouldn't. And you'll need to be far more specific than something like "...later this month will be an exciting new patch with new missions and gear!"
I *WANT* you to convince me there's something worth sticking around for.
