Ya, that's why I always check out the Test servers to see content before I even think about buying. I just can't make sense of paying that for such a little bit of content. Only thing that really does mean is to level up my clan's Challenge stat higher means I have to do more hotshots that are buggy as hell as is and repeat then every so often which sucks because ya now no xp gained after the 95 points.. So, basically doing it to vender mods and what little scrip it rewards for gold. Yay.. thanks trion ^_^v

I would have LOVED to do testing for Defiance. Unfortunately they do all their testing on PC so I was shtako outta luck there.

Ya, I'm on pc but let's see how this update works and if, it locks those with swords unable to equip them if so... guess I just managed to get max rep with Thorn I can't spend plus a shiny Orange sword that will just stick in my inv. intil the DLC content is free.

There's a lot of content in the DLC that wasn't made absolutely exclusive to the owners, which I think was an excellent move. The last thing you want in a game like this is for a lot of content to be behind paywalls. It got old in Battlefield and CoD. I played through my first major arkfall before I bought the season pass, and my friend and I were able to play through arena before he bought the charge pack.

However, there were some perks like the charge blades that were always in a gray area as far as exclusivity. I agree with this move, but I still think there should be something in the Defiance Store to unlock the ability to use blades. I've seen a lot of people in-game who would pay for that. They're mostly a fun weapon, anyway.

To be fair, it's not like any random player can just walk in and join your arena match. A lot of that stuff is invite-only. If you'd rather keep your content exclusive, you can tell your buddies to take a hike. The minor/major arkfalls are the only elements where players can walk in without ownership, and I would much rather not have that behind a paywall to keep population up. Payday 2 does something similar, I believe, with respect to friend ownership.

But the charge blades, yeah, I do agree that there should not have been a loophole there to begin with and I'm glad they're closing it.
