Detonators, BMGs, infectors, rockets, Defiant Few weapons, etc are not recommended, as they do very little damage and prevent other players to target properly.

The general rule for the Volge is: Shoot always to the head for maximum efficiency.

For the Volge Bombers, you can try to take them by surprise and shoot them on their face at point blank if you think you will be able to kill them before they have time to shoot at you (about 2-3 seconds, which is possible with a good wolfhound). If not, try from mid or long range while using the environment as cover. Use Wolfhound or SMG for short range, and Assault Rifle for medium-long range.
By the way, the bombers are the first ones you should kill when you can, as they will spam the battlefield with their homing projectiles.

For the Volge Troopers, you simply put yourself in front of them and shoot at their head from short range until they die. Keep moving if they throw grenades, and avoid their shockwave attacks. Try to attack them individually, as they can be deadly when in groups. A good tactic is to ignore the group and attack the one in the tail of the group. Repeat until they are all dead. Or try to attack the ones which are separated from the group, first.

For the Volge Viscera, just shoot them on the head from whatever range you want. Use Wolfhound or SMG for short range, and Assault Rifle for medium-long range. When they glow blue, they are going to do a charge attack. Get out of their path and start shooting them with everything you got, as while they glow you will always get critical hits, regardless on where you hit them. The Viscera should be the last ones you kill, as they are quite easy to avoid and rarely are more than 2 simultaneously.
This post really helped me out. I typically use an Infector and then either a Radiation, Fire, or Bio SMG for Volge Sieges (mostly radiation and bio, but a few times with fire for upping the stats with the particular weapon for later use). I remember someone here in the forum telling me why detonators are horrible for sieges and arkfalls, which is because they light up your screen to the point you can't see anything, and they also lag the event a big. I might not use my Infector for a Volge seige again after reading this. Might be time to get my skill stats up with the pistol. Although, I don't have a Wolfhound, I have a VOT Blaster.

My shield breaker loadout consists of an electric EMC Commando SMG, and a fire Wolfhound. It's not a unicorn wolfhound (green crit roll and assassin), but it works. At lower threat levels I just use the Wolfhound to one-shot stuff, and at higher levels I alternate between the SMG and the Wolfhound to get rid of their shields quickly, and kill them quickly afterwards. Works wonders against enemies with shields (Volge, Dark Matter and 99ers) at all threat levels.

Simple SMG. It is my first weapon and sometimes only weapon. I have 83 in the clip and with the rate of fire. I melt shields and if they get to close I put a few SG rounds into the chest. Check and Mate
