OP's got a point - this is a brilliant game.

The way it's being managed, however...

There are a myriad of games that are much better than Defiance out there at this point.

It is a good game. At least in parts. Perhaps it is the best game the OP knows. However, that means the OP doesn't know a whole heck of a lot of other games. There are a myriad of games that are much better than Defiance out there at this point.

No one (including me) greeted the op (because I got caught up with this), new people maybe unaware of past and present issues and if they feel it's the best game they have played then it is.

I love Defiance but it's being totally mismanaged due no doubt to Trion's bean counters.

Having dealt with bean counters, Arthur Andersen Consulting, at two different facilities I came to the conclusion all they are good for is charging you a lot of money, then making suggestions to change your company that almost destroys your customer base. In both cases dealing with those damn bean counters I fully think that had we not been medical care facilities we could have gone under.

Bean counters should be put into a giant crockpot turned to low then cooked till fork tender and easily shredded.

First we have to do this (and I'd like to be in charge of step #1). Be sure to use the mean side of that thing.

I've checked out a lot of MMOs and still haven't found anything with the raw mechanics that Defiance has.

Defiance suits my play style down to the ground and it would take something really special to get my attention. I can't see myself running around waving a wand or battling elves, so it would need guns, guns and more guns. And they'd have to be guns I can relate to, not the cartoony firefall weapons.

I may need to find a new clan though, because since the great patch, mine has virtually disappeared...
