So, I think the ark debris is still there. Now, it's just a ring of it instead of it engulfing the entire planet like it had before.

According to that the arkbelt is gone. It has been replaced by a much finer ark ring. How that works out remains to be seen but that's how it looked to me as I watched. The script indicates the effect was world wide.

"Earth now has a Saturn like ring in place of the arkbelt."

That's pretty unambiguous.

That debris might be too small and would burn up in the earth's atmosphere. If there is another belt around the sun it would have to get past its gravity, past two planets gravity for it even reach earth which I doubt that highly. Course this is syfy and trion so they could just lie and make something up.
