It's still forever, it's just a years worth of them (meaning all that were released during that year).
Season pass doesn't refer to a subscription. When the game was first released, we were promised 5 DLC packs to be released in that first year. A "season pass" was a way of paying for them all in advance with a slight discount. They're still purchased and not going to disappear on you.Originally Posted by nevada5147

I hope they do a 50% off special for the 7th legion dlc like they did with the castithan one, it seems just about every event is giving out 7th legion weapons and it would be nice to actually use the things instead of merchanting them right away as useless trash.

definitely 100% worth it ..I bought my ultimate edition...long long ago and yes I am glad I did and ppl who can go out and grab one for that price today are lucky!!! it comes with everything you need : GAME/BITS/ IRONMAN RED OUTFIT... DLC/ and a weeks worth of 2 kinds of boosts.. original price on this was 199.95 !!!

You get a whopping 500x2 Arkforge (two 'Arkforge' in Claim). I redeemed that code just today.

I think you get 1000 Arkforge from one of the DLC, and another 1000 from using a boxed edition code.
There are also lots of cheap VBI Ultimate packs around. These don't give any Arkforge or bits, but you get quite a lot of unlocks and 60 days Patron.
unfortunately original from Amazon they don't ship it to my place, i was eyeing that before i went with the route of $1.99 retail + the $39.99 season pass
and i don't really trust those Amazon 2nd hand re-sellers, which they do ship to my place.
In Canada I see a bunch of retail copies of Defiance in Best Buys and Futureshops just sitting in the "discount" sections for $5.
Worth it if you can find it, if you don't already own the game. Those it's mainly copies for 360 and PS3.
As for the season pass, I suppose if you want to support the developers it's worth getting, but if you don't, you're not missing much. Some small mission chains and access to use certain weapon types.
Of course my argument is that they should do away with the 5 DLCs and just incorporate that content into the F2P game, but whatever. :P
