    Totally self absorbed personal take on defiance weapons.

    sorry to re-post but i was curious about any feedback on how i see certain weapons in game.
    perhaps you can suggest ways around some of the limitations i have found.

    my list of W T F weapons

    BAS-7 Derailer - any real difference to others anymore since vehicles can be 1 shotted?

    Bull Rush .45 - pretty sure knockdowns dont work in pvp, in pve just too slow and totally aim reliant.

    Corpse Infector - i think the details in Infector's description are pretty misleading and unclear, whats this weapon doing b4 someone dies? anything outside of cankers, invaders, Proliferators and possibly FRC Incubator are pointless

    El Guapo - a "Plethora" = 6?

    El Presidente - only useful with nano. 6 shots is pointless.

    EMC Auto-Shotgun - least appealing o the original combat shotguns, they may work for some, but there are better options.

    EMC Magnum - does anyone use this slow-*** thing?

    FRC Particle Scattergun - omg slow and weak

    FRC Sawed-Off Scattergun - is it just me or are a lot of the sawn off shotties too similar in effects and dmg?

    FRC Sub-Carbine - Never found an occasion that this could do better than assault rifles or other SMGs

    FX Rocket Pod - a number of the less glam Rlaunchers are pretty standard and the same thing can be done with guided etc. who needs a rocket with delayed explosion btw?

    Hydra - i get it, i just dont find a use for it.

    LM-12 Rocker - all rocker types, slow, weak, better options around.

    Hekaton - Pulser by a new name?

    Monitor Sidearm - if the kickback didnt negate its purpose this might be useful sometimes.

    Quickshot Blaster - ok i love these but unless you get +mag AND reload buffs they are useless

    Shield Spanner - the illusion of "helping" some perks are controlled by shield status, this thing hands control to anyone around you. i understand direct healing BMGs but this blinds the people you think you are saving when a direct healing one can do the same thing. everyone knows this, i believe the response is "no we wont change the FX".

    Surge Nano-Fragger - trying to think... no i dont believe any of the charge shotties are useful. needs fire rate and charge speed increase.

    Surge Bolter - All surge bolters are total nonsense. a long range shotgun, yes good for noobs but doesnt teach you how to snipe. the nerf was misguided. particle rifles can kill without headshots, id opt for that over this.

    Tripleshot Fragger - these and alike i dont use because of being locked into a 3 shot rotation. shotguns is fine, just a waste of ammo, but something like the VBI AR1 Armada? is a liability.

    VBI AR1 Armada - as above.

    VBI CS-X Cluster Shot - i love these too and i would use it if it had more radius and did more dmg. as is, pointless.

    VBI GL-X Incinerator - i just want to make a note on the incinerator, i love them, i use them. but i have ALWAYS had an un modded assassin synergy version in my bags since launch... where the hell are the assassin mods? especially +ammo clip ><

    VBI HP-5 Wolverine - more crit pls.

    VBI PA-12 Haar - another slow charging for little payoff.

    VBI PAS-24 Tornado - i hate this one less then the other charge combat shotties but its still too slow and lacking dmg.

    VBI PS-30 Slugger - i dont love this one, but i use them. kind of have to when others use it in pvp. 1-3 shots max will kill players but thats if you miss the simple headshot. worst part is the range. kind of a backwards surge bolter in that its a shot gun that can snipe (to a point). less effective in pve strangely enough.

    VBI SO-2 Courier - Loved the original Courier. i dont know why the hell they turned it from 2 shells to 1 (even though u have to load 2 shells) it is now slow and less effective, basically nerf'd to broken. i used to enjoy splitting the 2 projectiles and killing 2 targets.

    VOT Breaker Cannon - really? bonus dmg to vehicular targets? im sorry the guy with the infector blew up the vehicle quicker than i could shoot my rocket... (in case you missed it, vehicles need a buff, everything else scaled up except vehicles its seems, if you want to remove your shield bar instantly, jump into a cerb.

    VOT Longshot Cannon - i guess if you had one with +200% projectile speed it would be decent. but by the time this thing arrives your target has sat down to a cup of tea as it flies over his head.

    VOT Mazu Blast Rifle - i enjoy the VOT Blast Rifles/flash but the Mazu? i cant see much difference, i think its slower but this kind of weapon is all about speed. with the benefit of small shotgun style spread at mid range and close range.

    VOT Meteor Bolter - Pushback? meh! ok so if you miss the headshot target moves away from your LoS, i guess i dont see the point in this effect. you can push them into cover. (also doesnt work in PVP).

    VOT Volge Thunderer Pistol - you see that youtube vid where the 10yo girl accidently shoots the instructor in the head at the shooting range once he handed her an automatic weapon? this is spray and pray, and cant be made better with mods. i think theres slight tracking on the shots but still.. if you absolutely have to kill every thing in the room except your target. this is your weapon.

    Votan Auto-Bolter - different skin, same weapon. i did notice that a syphon version of this is silent and without a "here i am sniping!" smoke trail. good for PVP except a shame syphon is so much weaker compared to radiation, i modded mine with rad and the smoke and pop is back.
    perhaps if its feature was silent and smokeless i could get onboard.

    Votan Heavy Blaster - i cant comment on using this weapon but it does read like a simple pistol with a blaster skin. am i wrong?

    Zagger - Hate them because i dont have a 0.0 reload one. those that do... to hell with u. reduce its dmg. BUT! make it a charge weapon. can still insta-kill but requires charging. reload issue solved.


    if i have left weapons out i am generally happy with their performance.
    some weapons named in this list are not lockbox versions but my opinion applies to the same types of weapons with the same effect.

    i hope this list is useful in some way.

    Courier - I used to have a loadout devoted to dual couriers. Now I don't.
    Why remove the V-shot? Why consume 2 ammo but fire once? Who rubber stamped this?

    Thunder Pistol - I keep one as a novelty weapon. I hate the shot-graphics. I hate the accuracy - I have shotguns that are more accurate.

    I used to be quite proficient with the Wolverine and Autopistol. Now I don't bother.

    I don't use any other ones you mentioned because they suck.

    Personally, I love my Thunderer Pistol. Heck, I've got a full set of epics (Normal, bio, fire, elec and rad). Yes they're hideously inaccurate and the projectile is a little too slow... but I love being able to tag something then watch it pop.

    Pls dnt do any nerf on Weapons any more, I luv my Zagger and I bought Mods for real money to let the synergy running ... think its not cool to nerf every weapon to dust.

    They nerf already the Full Reload Effects ... if Trion will nerf more we can use our Hands to fight, sure u dnt like the Zager cos u dnt have 0.0 Reload ... wud be better to have the Zagger Quatermaster as a Jackpot Weapon so more ppl have the chance to get this Weapon ...

    Pls Trion no more nerf on Weapons ... juts take the useless Weapons form Boxes, shud clam down all ppl who dnt have those OP guns...

    I dnt like the "new" cankers ... seems they have a bit more power pushed back on them ^^

    Wow, I'm glad other people shares the same view about most of the weapons mentioned above.

    The Devs really should rework many of those weapons to make them more distinct with its own "personality", than it's similar counterparts

    Agree with a lot of that. FYI the courier still is 2 shots, it does double the damage listed, it just fires as one. I like the new way it fires, it's easier to hit a target further away. I also miss the other way it fired, maybe they could make 2 models of it, one for the current way it fires and one for the old way.

    Pretty much agree with everything you posted above. A-year-or-so ago before the Nerf-fest begun it would be a completely different scenario... but yea.

    This is why there isn't much actual Weapon diversity in Defiance, nearly every player has the same Loadouts.

    Out of all the weapon types in defiance, i'd say about 5-10 of them actual get used, the difference margin between weapon qualities/damage is massive, the weapons should differ in damage ever so slightly and be on par with each other to make the game "Fairer", and more enjoyable.

    yeah pvp today was all about sluggers, i tried a few different shotties to see if i could counter but nah, get a slugger or go home.
    i even made a full defesive deck with 2 bmgs probablly took the dude 2 hits to kill me instead of 1.

    it should be a standard that a min of 2 hits is required. to break shield then pop ur head.

    another solution to zagger imbalance, make the perk "Rear Guard" actually do something in negating damage.
    even with the idea that these weapons are alien and fiction, I think the zagger is pure fantasy.
    willing the shells into the weapon by shear power of the mind...
    so Hollywood action movie.

    The monitor pistol is actually the best of the charge-for-shots pistols and the barrel climb can be compensated for by drawing the mouse down slightly when releasing the shot so most or all shots go to the head or wherever the shooter is aiming at.

    The ultimag is probably the best charge-for-effect pistol though it really needs its charge time adjusted; as is it takes too long to fully charge for the usual close range pistol combat and partial charges do not seem to do much over the poor base damage.

    The haar is a nice idea, it kind of reminds me of the real world LeMat revolver that has two barrels, one for nine rounds of regular pistol ammo (usually .44 in modern ones) and the other (which also acts as the cylinder hub) a one round shotgun (usually 16 or 20 gauge). Unfortunately, like the ultimag its charge time is a little too long to be that good at short range.

    The nano-fragger is not a bad weapon for highly mobile combat in areas with a lot of hard cover since at least some of the dps that would be wasted with no line of sight to the enemy can be recovered by charging it and letting the enhanced shot fly when the target is there (I use one quite often for that). An example of the kind of 'terrain' the nano-fragger is best at is the gulanee arkbreak in the communicator rooms. A slightly faster charge would be nice though and would make the weapon more generally useful.

    Surge bolters are good for sniping tight groups of enemies or hip shooting (my usual partner does the hip shot with sniper rifle thing a lot).

    I agree with the OP in that the thunderer pistol needs its base accuracy boosted a little; something that fires that slowly should not miss that often.

    The rocker and the thunder booth need some adjustments. Neither scale very well and the thunder if it has syphon actually takes a full clip more or less of hosing down a skitterling to kill it at higher threat levels.
