Wow, you're not too...bright, are you? It's not because of a lack of keys, it's a game mechanic. Don't detonate if you don't need to. You should only need to reload, if you're about to detonate.

Oh, we're resorting to insulting intelligence now. I never said it wasn't a game mechanic. I said it's a bad one, or one meant for console players due to a lack of buttons. Just like Mass Effect 3 and a million functions being bound to the spacebar on PCs despite having an entire keyboard to bind keys to.

Allow me to humbly present this scenario to you, since you're clearly so much "brighter" than me.

You're in a PvP fight, or a hectic PvE battle. You're using a manual detonation weapon with more than one shell per clip.

You fire a grenade at the target, you detonate and damage them, but they move. You want to fire your other shell at their new location to finish them off.

Guess what? You can't. Know why? Because the game is forcing you to reload after firing one shell. They kill you while you're waiting to reload instead of being able to fire one grenade, detonate it, then place another at the target's new location, and detonate again to finish them off.

What's the alternative? Shooting every single grenade and expecting them all to kill the target before you reload? This isn't something that should be imposed on you and it's a sloppy double-function button. Reminds me of Mass Effect 3 with spacebar being used for player revive, object interaction, dodge roll, move to cover, and sprint. Having to compensate around unintuitive controls doesn't mean they're satisfactory. Yeah, I can make that GL "work." I can get around this issue, but it's still lazy keybinding and interferes with using the weapon to its full potential.

Thanks for confirming you're a fan of grenade spam. It's one of the worst things about PvP. But hey, here's a suggestion. Learn how to "lead" your shots. And...ya know, shoot more than one. You don't shoot one bullet at a moving target, do you?

Completely agree. Its the same for the rocket launcher with the same effect, except with that its even more of an issue. It needs to be seperated and changed to middle mouse button as default like secondary functions in other games. The PC version needs a lot of these little changes and I sincerely hope they don't forget about them.

Somebody's bitter as ****. Not my fault you can't figure out how to dodge roll away from grenades in PvP and not run into battles blindly. Boy it sure is easy to peg people with generalizations. It's just as easy to cheaply kill people with a sniper rifle from a ledge while they scurry about a capture point, or by lobbing a normal grenade that does over twice as much damage as a manual detonation GL or the recently nerfed explode-on-impact version. Or by unloading an SMG, or firing a 2000 damage shotgun in someone's face with cloaking.

Also I like how you just complained about "grenade spam" and then said to "fire more than one" in the same breath. Are you even reading my posts, or just responding to the last line? This isn't a normal gun that deals damage on contact. It's not even a normal GL. IN ORDER TO DEAL DAMAGE, YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY DETONATE. Meaning, IN ORDER TO DEAL DAMAGE, YOU FORCE YOURSELF TO RELOAD. That is the issue. Why should I have to unload every single shell to avoid being stuck reloading while someone fires away at me?

"You" as in the player, or Trion? Because I asked in my OP if there was a way to do that. I looked over the hotkeys and didn't see anything for that. Also, considering they're both bound to the same key, I somehow doubt players can separate them.

You seem rather upset, to which I can only say you should take a step back and calm down.

For the manual detonation Detonators, that is the mechanic. Press R to det and reload. You can get other detonators with different mechanics though. There are more traditional ones, where you shoot the nade and it either detonates on impact or after a few seconds of rolling around.

Further, I'd suggest if you truly feel so strongly about it, then while you're in game hit Esc -> Spacebar -> Settings -> Click the keys on top -> Submit Feedback. It will probably get seen by someone quicker than you ranting about it on the forums.

Yes, I'm aware that's how they function, as I've explained at least twice already. It's more the people posting in response without actually understanding what they're replying to and being unnecessarily accusatory and hostile that are annoying. The mechanic itself is just a badly implemented inconvenience that I wanted to point it out and see if anyone else was having problems with it/there's a way to separate the hotkeys.

It's not poorly implemented, you just don't like it. There is a difference. And there isn't a way to separate them because...wait for it, that's the mechanic. It was designed to be that way.
