Can anyone recommend a good keyboard to type on?

Can anyone recommend a good keyboard to use for extended periods of typing.

Also has to be able to be plugged into a PS/2 port on my computer as the USB ports are now all occupied.

I've been using the ps/2 ports for the keyboard and mouse for years..

It would be nice to actually have a keyboard that lasts longer then 12 months.

Your computer still has PS/2 ports?

I use this: http://store.madcatz.com/categories/...rd-for-PC.html but it is USB

It's my second one, my first (originally Saitek, bought by MadCatz) lasted 10+ years.

The mechanical keyboards are supposed to last awhile but I believe are more expensive.

Some Blah blah blah on mechanical keyboards: "What Is a Mechanical Keyboard? A mechanical keyboard uses actual, physical switches underneath the keys to determine when the user has pushed a key. Press a key, and you press its switch down. Press the switch down, and the keyboard sends a signal to the PC telling it that you pressed that key. Most keyboards are composed of a set of three plastic membranes, with rubber dome-shaped switches underneath each key. Press a key, and the rubber switch pushes through a hole in the middle membrane to connect the top and bottom membranes, which creates an electrical circuit that causes the keyboard to send the input to your PC. This keyboard design is inexpensive and spill-resistant, but it doesn't give you as much tactile or audible feedback when you press a key, which can change the way you type.

I'll have to check those out. I have plenty of shopping choices now.

I have tons of those usb / ps2 adapters for keyboards but the thing is not every keyboard works with them and I'd like to know why.

Take Ned's advice and buy a usb hub. Save yourself a ton of headaches if you have compatibility problems. Or find a geek friend and bug them. I have at least 2 that are collecting dust I would give away.

For keyboards I really like this one.

It's very different to get used too, but once I did I love it. I don't use the the base that props up the bottom of the keyboard though.

Lol. If you weren't in Australia I would but even in the US it would still probably cost more to ship it then to buy a new one.
