Try a different keyboard. I know it sounds weird but a friend of mine had a simular issue (not in defiance) and it turned out that his keyboard was broke.

One hour with your internet, it would take 15 with mine.
But I don't think reinstalling the game has anything to do with that bug.

I need 6-7 minutes to download and install. But it takes up to an hour of trial-n- error to start the game. If you reinstall it often, you may be familiar with the common pitfalls and do this way faster.

@ OP : As silver suggested, use another PC to narrow it down. If you don't have a friend nerby, ask someone that you trust to check this for you. You can change your password afterwards since your account is tied to your email address.

strange i cant recall the guys name but it might be the same one or it might be a new one but someone was haveing this same error some time back. i told them " did you try usein your arrow keys to move left and right to change the numbers or try asdw to move left and right and change the numbers " and thy never got back to me witch leads me to beleave eather

anyway. iv never seen or hurd about this bug till the other time i hurd about it so that is all the help i can give. insted of contacting saport try contacting a dev. like kiwi and asking them for asisdence via a PM thay might beable to helpo you if you give them the saport tickit number and describe in full detail what is happaning . more often or not its something in the code.

and it never hurts to try.

also try the sajestion to test it on another computer. if its just your computer thats haveing the problum its then something in your copy but if its account wide and its happaning on the account on a diffrent PC then its defanitly could be something on trions end.

All right.

Support has done all they can, and the problem isn't solved.

Play the odds. Which is more likely?
1) There is something wrong with the game, that is only happening to one person out of all the thousands of people playing it.
2) The problem is with his system.

Support has done all they can? Is that a joke. Support has done nothing. They took 8 days to tell me they don't handle that department and instead of sending it to whichever department handles it, they just sent me an automated like robot message that told me to submit it as a bug. Wow if that's doing all they can, you have some bad standards of what service is and the difference between good and bad because that is BEYOND bad.

To rule out it being your computer, is there another computer you can use to log in?

Rule one or the other out. If it works fine on a different computer, then it seems to be your computer. If it does the same thing on another computer, it may be something with your account that may have corrupted.

I only play on my laptop, so no I have not tried a different computer. However I believe it might be account wide because I downloaded it through glyph first, and I thought downloading it through steam would solve it but it didn't.

I play on a laptop and the problem still occurs if I play with mouse and take off the controller interface.

I can promise you I am not that same guy seeing how I just started playing defiance 2 weeks ago. I will attempt a new computer when I possibly can but I doubt that will fix it because again, I think it has to do with the account. Therefore it will go where ever I log in on seeing how it did it with steam.

Yep use the arrows to move sideways, overreaction from the player reporting this non issue. He probably activated the control interface.

I have used everything possible in attempt to move, I have tried arrow keys, analog sticks, 2 different controllers, idk what part of they are grayed out and unusable you missed. I activated the controller interface a long time ago and this problem never occured until right after one of the patches. So for you to say im having a overreaction is ignorant and saying it is a nonissue is even more ignorant because it shows you failed to read what I said.

As far as I know (I may be wrong, but I could not find a local configuration file on my computer so it is a reasonable assumption) most of the game settings are stored on the server, and if your settings get corrupted, strange things can and will happen. A friend of mine had trouble with the chat window (the chat lines were squashed, he could not read anything; changing the font size or any other chat options did not help, reinstalling the game did not help, etc.), but after resetting the chat interface it went back to normal. It may sound stupid, but you could try the same: reset the chat and everything else that is resettable. I'm not saying that it will be your 100-percent solution, but it won't hurt giving it a try.
