When wow first came out back 7-8 years ago I played and yes they also had extremely bad lag for around a month when the game started to become popular. Give trion some time to fix the game

You have no idea what you're talking about. This is not the first MMO on Xbox. Its the 3rd. FF and Phantasy Star were both awesome MMO's and they never had problems like this. I played FF for hours and hours and be er had lag or disconnection issues like Defiance.

Obviously, Trion rushed this game out because they had to whether it was ready or not. If they didn't release the same time as the TV show then their whole little plan would have been ruined. Trion is a joke.

Will these things get fixed? Of course they will. The problem is that the whole "this is the first week of a MMO release" excuse is outdated. At this point in time developers should be able to circumvent a lot of these major issues, and there should be no excuse for it. Trion dropped the ball, there's no disputing that. And any person who spends money on a product is entitled to be more than a little upset if it doesn't work the way it should.

The excuse "this is the first week of a MMO release" is not outdated, and will never be outdated unless a magic fairy godmother came along and granted all MMO Devolpers magic servers that are already fully optimized and bug free for thousands of players to play on. If only... ... ahem, anyway!

I most usually avoided MMO's on launch day, except Warhammer Online (disaster) and Guild Wars 2 (Pretty good Launch day) and This game. I bought this on release day, because i heard Trion had a near perfect launch day with Rift, so i half expected no issues... oh well, i've been wrong before.

So why am not yammering on like a spoiled little Shtako? First off, this is free to play, so i have all the time in the world to get my $60 worth, second i went in buying also half expecting major issues because well... I bought the xbox version... of an MMO... need i say more?

Sighh.... Phantasy Star Universe calling that a MMO is kind of a stretch considering combat areas where instanced and was a max of 4 players.. yeah you sat in a lobby where you could buy items and chat with hundreds of people but that puts no stress on the bandwith of servers considering all those players can only jump around chat in a small area. Which actually even the open world areas are instanced between each other as you progress. Instanced Areas are completely different from Defiances open world. Instanced areas put ALOT less stress than a Open world does.Hints why PSU and FFXI have instanced areas. So saying I have no idea what im talking about.. you might need to go check yourself

The game was made with loading screens to reduce lag yeah its a MMO but what i was saying is Defiance is the first MMO on xbox360 to not have loading screens between towns/outside (And if you say) "Well Karagra you should of been more specific next time." No wrong next time you should prob do your research so i dont have to come back into the forum and correct you.) Anyways after shutting you down,Defiance is doing something no other game has attempted on a 360 which is a world completely open for players. So as I stated before it will cause a bit of lag and stress on the servers they have give them time to fix the problems this is all new to them.

I just want to throw my two cents out there, but everyone going on about Destiny. Let me just say this the game will be produced by Activision, the same people who make Call of Duty. The game is also be headed by everyone knows Bungie. So if you people think that Destiny is going to be the greatest game ever, I have news for you. You already have played it with Halo 1,2,3, Odst, and you've already played it with Call of Duty MW 1,2,3, Bo 1,2.

Your going to get the same exact game as Halo or COD, the only selling feature Bungie is pushing is the ability to change your armor, and have up to 3 friends help you with missions. 3 friends is identical to what you get in Borderlands. Activision people is a billion dollar company and marketer, there not going to take risks like Trionworlds and make something both new and fun. Destiny is going to be the same exact game you've played 1000 times, I'm so tired of people championing a product that will offer no ingenuity, and claiming its outlandsh.

Yes Defiance has day one launch issues surprise for the first MMO shooter ever to be on the XBOX but the fact that the creators are so willing to hear constructive feedback and take that into account for how they're going to go about fixing the game is almost unheard of. And another point I'd like to bring up YOU GUYS WHO LOVE DESTINY. How did Blizzard handle Diablo 3 on launch day, it was a catastrophe even after fans warned of DRM. But did Blizzard listen, did they care, is there still an absence of any kinda of PVP over 1 year after the games launch. Is the auction house still broken, are the servers full of gold farming bots, does Blizzard really care about any of these issues. The answer is no, so do you really want to get excited about Blizzard's next endeavor in making that reality come to Destiny, I know Bungie is a great company, but so was Bioware, and looked how EA botched the ME and DA series. Destiny will have a multitude of day one issues, and who knows possibly DRM as well. And the crazy thing is its just another Halo, there's no innovation there.

Ok ok ok look i completely agree kara and everything kara has posted has been true and just to be blunt i played wow when it first came out and its bugs and lag was way worse and idk if anyone else has played the beta for war frame it was the same way at first and it looks great so just give the games so time keep trying to get on and keep trying to play and sooner or later you'll notice no lag no bugs and yet you'll probably find some new reason to complain about a NEW GAME so let the ones of us who love this game and are waiting for the fix to wait and let that guy go *** to cod or something and lets play defiance!!

I agree with this compltely.

I was actually mocking my friend that is famous for *****ing a lot last night by telling him "You would expect to see this on hour 2 but not day 2!" I believe that there is a fair amount of people that have paychecks that are somewhat centric on this game and its running properly. That being said I believe it will run soon enough.

Problems i have had:
I died. i respawn got caught on fire and died instantly it repeated Costing me 2000 script. before it finally stoped
Numbers of time i got disconnected.. 10
numbers of time i had to relog because quests just didn't work. 28 (and counting!)
NUMEROUS bugs getting them every minute
the arkfall lags like a mother trucker.... sounds go out of line
the inspect feature doesnt work

This game is horrific! i understand this game just came out and is supposed to have problems but not like this. its way to bad... to many problems even for a just released OPEN WORLD SHOOTER! its not a MMO its a Open world shooter people!

im already on my second disk! why when i got home the disk was scratched to ****! people say its your gaming company or on the travel it got scratched... Uhh hello? they shipped hundreds to the store... they would all have to be damaged to gotten damaged from the travels... so i don't know but some ****head scratched it and sent it anyway.

Now how bout that region lock? i knew from the start this game wont last long and will have MANY MANY MANY problems but this is toooo much holy crap. we want region lock off and they just gave us a F***ing crap answer and moved on just like all the other problems that we want fixed.. Trion is a horrible company and when people tell them off the remove the post and Ban people... im sorry.. but im finished with this game and this company its horrible and im ashamed that i have even bought it im sick of it.! and this game will not make it past 2-3 months TOPS! lets BRING ON DESTINY!
