Steam (Loading Freeze)

I start Defiance up through steam then the game opens does the Starting Logo and what not and Freezes either at the Trion Logo or at the Defiance Start Menu with no start player w/e option

I tried verifying the cache it said 1 file didnt validate problem solved it reinstalled

Wrong it still froze on the menu i played for 21 hours perfectly fine now the game craps out on me is there a fix?

Found the fix someone was talking about how overlays were locking the game so i turned off steam skype overlay wasnt it so i remembered i had 1 more overlay to turn of XFIRE overlay was the one freezing defiance start screen
