I have to be honest, I'm struggling to understand why you think dlc should transfer across platforms, I've bought loads of dlc for games that are multi platform, but ultimately different platform different game, sure it might be the same game, but I'm not going to expect my xbox 360 games to work in my pc or ps3 or even my xb1 for that matter, if I want to play a game on multiple platforms I need to buy the game for multiple platforms, why would dlc be any different?

I believe the linking of xbox ps3and pc accounts is in actual fact linking them to your trion account, not to each other, for the purposes of redeeming codes etc, it lets trion know what platforms to apply those rewards to

the linking of the account carrys over your infermation as u said at the end there. i allways beleaved it also carryed over the infermation for what DLCs each of your accounts owned as well. but like i said. and admited to i may be wrong. hints why i want to talk to a dev about it . its a waist of money for a player thats allready bought one set of the DLCs for an account to have to re buy them over agine for the same account if there just moveing the account from one consol to another. sure thy might not beable to carry over the toons but that would be the same as jumping a server such as from NA to EU or to PTS (( PTS u can atleast get your toon put on but still have to create a new one if you dont want your old toon on it ))

Again the DLC is exclusive to the platform it is bought on.

The linking is to link accounts to trion so they can more easily check your ingame info if you have an issue or are reported for something. It is also so all your accounts have items issued by Trion such as the arkcode rewards, because they made it so the trion codes are duplicated in coding for all systems involved.

Dlc bought on Xbox, use Xbox only coding. Dlc bought on PC uses Pc only coding. Dlc bought on Ps3 uses Ps3 only coding. It is made that way on purpose and will not change for these consoles. You may not like it, but it is done on purpose, to make sure people have to buy the DLC for that specific system. It is how all the companies involved make sure they get their cut of the profits. It is a business thing, and as Stef has said, it is that way with ALL games that are on multiple platforms. They do it with games and always have so they also do it with DLC since each system uses it's own coding, and use A LOT more coding than one little item does.

Btw pre-order exclusives are worse. If you start a Defiance character on a different server or system, it is considered a new account, so any pre-order that is no longer available can't be gotten on that new character (account) even though you have it on the main system/console characters you have.

For example, I have the Ark infiltrator outfit/helmet on my Xbox NA character, but since my Xbox EU character was created six months ago (AFTER they quit including the Ark infiltrator outfit/helm in digital deluxe editions) I don't have it on my EU characters. When I submitted a ticket, I was told, "I am sorry but that outfit/helm is no longer offered as part of the deluxe edition and your EU account is NEW so it does NOT qualify to get that outfit/gear." I tried pointing out that it is all on an account that was created at launch but was informed that ALL servers and systems are seen as different accounts so I am out of luck.

acutaly... most of thats right lol i talked to my fave dev got a little more of a lowdown on it. it dosent have to do wit hthe codeing it has to do with how MS and Sony are. and how thy dont play well with others. My first instinct as a part of the "pc gamer master race" is to roll my eyes and go "lol consoles lololol" but it's happening here too. Witness all these launchers companies want us to use. Glyph is reasonably seamless and actually adds value (lets you alternate between multiple glyph accounts from one steam account which is useful for families playing together) but some of the others are a total PITA. Steam already provides drm services, I have skipped buying more than a few games after seeing how much extra DRM was layered on top. Not gonna install that crap on my computer for an 8 hour single player game. In fact I shouldn't have to create an account for anything that isn't a massively multiplayer/microtransaction based game.

I still haven't bought ME3 because it wasn't offered on Steam. The whole fiasco with the endings didn't help of course. Still now that they improved that I keep meaning to get around to it, but CBA. I have become stuck to the Steam ecosystem because they actually make it worthwhile to do so.
