it's a hardware issue.. pop in a copy of Battle for Middle Earth.. one of xbox's first RTS.. if you have any more than 5 units moving on the map at a time, you or the enemy, the console will lock up and reboot/catch fire. its ok.. in 2005 when it launched, it had an 87.4% failure rate.. today.. after years of failure, bad media, 3rd party shops opening to make money off of consumers for repairs, several houses burnt down and even lives lost, it now has a really good failure rate of only 54.7%...... (ahem.. MORE THAN HALF).. yeah...
sure, it has 3 procs.. running HT as 6 virtual cores.. but the actual clocked speed when operational is less than 1.6ghz.. my phone does better with 4 actual cores...
