Rocket Launchers: the not-so-superweapons

Is anyone else a little underwhelmed by the rocket launchers in this game? Maybe it's just been my luck or my level, but I haven't found a decent one yet. The damage I've seen them do has been minimal compared to what some of the other weapons in this game can pull off. I've found detonators to be far more useful. For having such low ammo, rocket launchers provide terrible burst damage. In fact, they seem to be the weakest weapon group overall.

Unless the devs finally decided to swing the ol' nerf bat - which was needed and completely justified - then once you get a bouncy lancher(shoot rocket, rocket spawns child rockets on impact) that should change somewhat.

lol I use the hydra rocket launcher. Thing is the WORST weapon in the game.

Swarm cannons are fun though. Their damage is decent for what they do.

They are fun... thats all. Overall, in pve other options outweigh the fun (low clip size and not so great damage wit hconstand reloading will get you killed fast later).

They're pretty bad, especially against the big arse bosses you'd think they would be very good at. There's probably some bonus effects they want you to unlock that make them more worthwhile, but currently the damage is garbage compared to a few shots from any other weapon. The ammo cap vs dps just doesn't make sense. If you hit an enemy with a rocket that is the dispersing kind, but don't disperse it, the single enemy should take the total amount of damage that would kick in if they were hit with all the bomblets (since that's what is happening). The min damage is also atrocious, as is splash damage.

I disagree...within closed spaces, a swarm cannon can be pretty effective as 1 shot totals 6 explosions. If you get the mobs to chase you down a narrow hallway in one of the mine instances and let loose a swarm rocket, they're pretty much done.

They were nerfed a long time ago, in part because of bunny hopping Halo noobs at arkfalls and in PvP.

They're not meant to be instagib weapons, used properly they are effective. If you're looking for OP weapons, you're in the wrong place.

I use the Hydra one during Ark Falls. It works just fine. At times my other weapons seem to be doing 35 damage instead of 350, I pull it out. It ends up doing about 900+ or so to Matriarch bugs >:|

I think they're just very situational. And sometimes a big rocket is what the Ark Hunter ordered.

Even used properly they are inefficient. IDK add soem heavyer missile launchers that wont let you jump then -_-
