PS3 is nothing but hard freezes & Disconnects, this is getting exponentially worse :(

This game used to work properly. I know not many ppl really care because they may not be running into issues, but its gotten to the point where if i want any enjoyment or sanity, i have to not play defiance. Ive enjoyed this game since beta phase. Put hundreds of dollars and hours into it from then till now... why you ask? Thats crazy you say! No its not, because i dont mind spending money on non material items for an mmo or game if i enjoy my time with it and have high hopes for it. And that was all true. Even through the year after launch i stayed and supported through all the 1 step forward 5 step back patches and updates. They were minor annoyances in most cases and the game was still playable.

But it cant even be shrugged off or ignored now. When 2.0 launched alongside dlc 5, this game broke. It wasnt that bad even then though, i took a break for a couple months and came back for the halloween hulker hell event. And then i noticed that its literally UNPLAYABLE on ps3 now. Its just playable if im riding around the map and at emergencies, but any arkfalls are an automatic disconnect.

things that have 30second to over a minute delay loading(not once in a while, but EVERYtime) - map, menus, vehicle summon, hundreds of invisible things on the map im crashing into when riding around(which is nothing new but they usually show after a few seconds).....now even when i dismount, they take 30 seconds up to show up. Im bieng killed by invisible enemies everywhere i go.

Major pains in ma` butt -disconnects. Its booting me when i enter menus/map/fast travel/chatvwindows. I absolutely cannot complete an arkfall now without bieng dc`d. During the halloween event i averaged 5 to 8 hrs a day and only was able to find maybe 10 hh events due to bieng dc`d and never getting back into the same server/shard. And of those 10 i only could complete 3 HH arkfalls due to constant disconnects. Now for the harvest festival, the events are spawning, but i cant complete a single one. And what happened to trion fixing the fact that we arent receiving rewards upon signing back in after a dc? Nothing is going to my backpack, nothing is going to my claims section. Ive been disconnected from 50 arkfalls today, and its impossible to get any rewards. This bums me out majorly that when trion actually does something special and gives us some new gear to grind for, i cant even get into the grind.

I just want to participate in the events and have fun playing my favorite game :,( this was never like this untill a month or 2 ago. I rarely would ever get dc`d b4 2.0 went live and they changed the core of what this game was. Im not saying the changes were all bad. Its a totally new game and i would give an honest opinion if it would work long enough to enjoy. I like that weapons scale now. I like that you can increase and decrease ratings, increase rarity etc.... i miss the way grenades were though. Eh whatever. I just hope trion starts opening thier eyes and work hard on stabalizing the ps3 servers because its bad now. Everyone knows it, theres constant threads and talk from players on other sites about the state of ps3. Trion should be aware of this, but its getting worse and worse everyday with every patch. Now i know not everybody has these problems. Theres obviously different areas and servers and many factors. During the first year i never ran into any of the problems everyone was complaining about on a daily basis. Now i feel thier pain.

Ive literally done everything to check my internet, and the problem is not on my end that i can tell. I have well fast enough download /upload speeds, zero to minimal packet loss, open nat. Checked gameplay with static ip, placed in dmz/ checked with the ports opened in forwarding/ checked the last way with upnp enabled.......all giving the same result. Defiance is the ONLY game that lags out and disconnects me constantly. And Its the ONLY game ive EVER had in my life that has hard frozen my console. It did it the first day i put it in at launch, and it still does it now. Much more frequently now. But still the only game that does it. Ive had 7 hard freezes today alone with this game. Sometimes i get disconnected fro the servers 5 times in a matter of ten minutes. Often actually. I dont understand how its gotten this bad.

Ok, thats my rant for this month. Lol. Usually id just shrug it off and play something else and not say anything, but today trying to play was like pulling teeth. It riled me up so much i just had to vent for once. On top of all this ive had support tickets that havent been answered since april(trions marking them as solved even though theyve not done anything) i just keep refreshing them,lol. I dont have a pc anymore to do live chat. Even asked on here to no avail. They arent major enough at this point to even care. Id forgive and forget it all if i could JUST play the game again and enjoy myself. Please trion. Try to fix the state of ps3.Stop passing it off as fixed. Stop nerfing and buffing and doing minor things untill you actually mKe the game playable. I would think that would be a forerunner. I cant comprehend how this game keeps getting more broken everytime i log on, and all the while you guys/gals say things are getting better and stable. They really arent.

Try option 3 then option 4 in safe mode. See if you still get dc. Also if wireless, try wired connection and see if that helps. I personally haven't been able to enjoy the event much nor has my gf because we get dc'd. Only when we are tagged by BMG weapons. I lose FPS or it stalls causing a freeze. Defiance IS the only game I've ever played that hard froze my ps3. I've purchased dlc and haven't been able to fully enjoy it without being disconnected. I've tried arkbreaks with friends and we always time out trying to enter or get routed to a war master battle that already in session and almost over. The crime fighter weapon causes lags and hard freezing when in small spaces. (Empty buildings, arkbreaks and even some co ops. Fast traveling causes me to time out as well an after logging in from being timed out I am usually routed to a different phase/server/shard. So I feel the pain and I've posted about it too.

I get disconnected every dam time there's a event so I miss out on all the EVENT STUFF I'm getting so tired of this **** I'm ready to delete the game off my ps3

I've been playing for about a month so I wouldn't know how this game used to be but it seems like Trion has the worst servers I've ever encountered.
Everything the OP says is perfectly true. I've tried everything to increase my connection speed so I know it's not my fault that I keep getting DC'd (then kicked from psn in some cases) and when I try to sign back in the usual 'The defiance service is not available' comes up. Not much 'service' happens on this game, people are still getting ripped off during trades and Trion is ignoring them (it's partially their own fault but trion can/has helped in the past or so I've heard)
The thing is that they don't care about Defiance anymoreand that's obvious. They keep putting out new games when they can't even fix the old ones.

I've been playing Defiance since it came out in Beta. I've been experiencing the same Issues since then, hard freezes, map, enemies, players slow loading, disconnects.... etc I've contacted Trion more times than I care to admit, but I get the same thing over and over... 1) Disable Media Server 2) Delete Defiance Game Utility 3) It's my connection, which is NAT2. 4) It's My connection to PSN. Then I get there is nothing more they can do to help me... So I gave up playing Defiance a few years ago. I just started playing it again and the same issues I experienced years ago, still happens and not nearly as many players on like when it first came out. Yet same problems and no solutions or fixes. Just more crap to buy and more hoops to jump through... It's always on the gamers end, never on Trions... What's sad is Defiance is a really fun game, sadly no one gets to play it.
