How is it possible to buy an elite weapon box, when it called for 64 Keys, when the game only allows 50 keys?
Does the key cap increase when you get a higher ego rating?
What's the minimum ego rating one must be to receive a legendary weapon?
Do you need to have DLC to obtain a legendary weapon? Someone told me you do, but I can not trust them as far as I can through them.
One last question not related to legendary weapons....

What the hell are Arkforge even used for?

Sorry if the questions may seem similar, but I just want answers tried searching on countless forms for answers to no avail.
Nowhere in the op did they mention pvp, it might be the be all and end all for you but not the rest of us.

Until you get higher ego legendary weapons are irrelevant. It costs too much to keep them at your ego and you won't earn anywhere close to the amount of ark forge needed to keep them at your ego. Until you're 5k ego I wouldn't even bother. Take the time to learn the game mechanics and enjoy yourself. Patience is a virtue and defiance will definitely test your patience at times.

For PvE play, which is what I do too, having a Legendary class weapon does make things a little (emphasis on "little" here) easier, when I was playing my 1st character, I received a Legendary pistol very early on that I remembered it suddenly made progressing through the main story line and participating in arkfalls much easier.

However, as has been mentioned by others, the amount of arkforge required to keep the said Legendary weapon up to date with your current EGO level is not very feasible, unless you don't mind spending real money and buy arkforges. After your EGO outstrips the weapon by 3 or 4 hunder EGO level, which is pretty quick early on, you're better off just using whatever you happen to come by.

I sell run of the mill Oj guns for 20/25k.

-You can equip Oj.. Legendary Weapons.. at any level.

-Key cap capcity is set at 50 for free to play Players. You have to buy more capacity with bits $$$.

-You only need DLCs to equip DLC weapons.

-Ark Forge is used to reroll the master bonus of a gun to earn a new one. Up a weapons tier/color one level, so for instance you can up a Epic Purple Gun to a Orange Legendary. And also increase the weapon level, so say you have a gun that's a level 500 when you got it and now you are a level 1000, you can increase that 500 to match your current level of 1000 and make it stronger.

You can also take a weapon that's a higher level then you from a trade and reduce it down so you can equip it. So for instance say a level 5000 Player trades you a Oj gun.. but your a level 1000. You can spend 6 Ark Forge to lower that level 5000 gun to a 1000 so you can equip and use it.
    Nicely stated.

I'd only add a couple of more things:

    - There are some legendary weapons that can be purchased through the reputation vendors (although they are not great)

    - Not all LEGENDARY weapons are truly "legendary"... That is to say they may be ORANGE, but I've had purples and blues with great rolls that are better than some legendaries.

    - You can make any unencrypted PURPLE weapon ORANGE with arkforge.

Why do you want oj weapons that you aren't going to be able to afford to upgrade, my advice to you would be to use blue and epic rarity weapons and save your scrip up so that you can equippe your character when it's a higher ego.
That's a great point that should be fully considered by anyone chasing the perfect weapon at lower levels. Over time much will change, as may your opinion about which weapons are actually worthwhile (particularly as more perks are unlocked, etc.)

Anyone trying to chase the perfect Legendary weapon at lower levels should listen to the Dead Milkmen's song "Big Lizard in my back yard" first.

yeah.. I was just outlining that after you said "Why do you want oj weapons that you aren't going to be able to afford to upgrade".

And considering this thread is all about upgrading/leveling weapons and Ark Forge its all good info to know. Even if OP didn't ask it, atm he doesn't even know to ask because he doesn't know how all this works yet. Not to mention other people looking for answers will read this thread to.

So yeah, getting Orange gear early on is not a total hassle as players can use that stuff at their full potential without needing to level them for PvP because PvP makes all gear and player levels the same when in it.

how do you know which is a major arkbreak? i know a major arkfail is the big red circle and I've also been in 1 arkbreak but i have no idea how i found it. Also, how do you know what a major event is? like, old faithful is a big yellow circle, which, for some reason, i never get anything for completing them. On the icons list, on the map, it doesn't show what symbols are for major events. I've also noticed, the only major events I've found, were in silicon valley. Is that true?

i learned a lot by myself because i haved played rift since its release, but some things i am just a little confused on. like, even buying mods for my gun, i rarely find shops to by them at.

"Arkfail" indeed. You are already wise beyond your EGO level.

Every place you can fast travel to will have vendors. Most of those places will have vendors for mods for each type of weapon. For example --
    The Crater = Pistol mods
Muir Processing Plant = Sniper mods
Iron Demon Ranch = Auto Rifles (Assault, LMG, SMG)
Bug N Chug - Shotgun mods
The Overpass (San Fran) - Explosive mods (rocket launchers, detonators)
PC NA - *Defiance* [outcastJesTeR] Gortho
    *Defiance2050* [StigsCousin] Gortho
    <Chaos Crew>
    Steam - StigsCousin
    Xbox Live Gamertag - ERTStigsCousin
