    I agree but generally when there isn't any notice and the servers just come down for no reason. Just means there was a server crash.

    Agreed but they could be looking at the source of what is causing the crash. Server overload probably being the main reason behind it. So they could be doing server side fixes in the mean time until that patch goes live later on this afternoon.
