    Leeching?

Leeching may be the wrong word because implies a harsher tone than I mean to convey. What I mean by "leeching" is when a player shows up at a contract mission like the daily\weekly contracts like Von Bach, Top Notch, etc. and kill one enemy and then leave and hope someone else comes along and finishes it. I also understand that not everyone with 1 kill is using this practice because I can't count how many times I've been driving by something and run over a hellbug and later on get credit for completing the mission. Anyways, I'm not complaining about the practice because I understand that it can be monotonous repeating the same mission over and over just so that you can level up reputation to fulfill some of the pursuits and sometimes you just want to participate in something else.

The reason I bring it up is because I'm seeing it at the Solstice minors now. I soloed at least 6 minors yesterday and at 4 of them there were 1 or 2 extra names on the leaderboard and I was the only one there. These minors spawned at the edges of the map so they couldn't be accidental drive-bys and since they are not pursuit related (and there for optional) it can't be a monotony thing. The only thing I can come up with is players farming for weapons and mods via the RNG slot machine. I have observed that usually 2-4 Solstice minors spawn at a given time and I was wondering if what some players were doing was hitting each one of them for single kill then hopping to the next.

So, has anyone else observed this and is this a common practice that I am just unaware of?

I've seen it happen often and then I wonder where was that person was, I didn't see anyone else. It's kind of twilight zone like.

Possible that ppl are moving on, but remember volge are pretty tough, moreso for lower egos, extraction points can be a fair distance from the events, so they may have been killed and had to extract, and didn't make it back in time, or didn't bother trying because they got their butts kicked, guess there can be other reasons besides the leeching

Happens a lot with conflict stuff in SV. They kill one thing, then leave. There's also always been those who will sit on the edge of a site to get credit for it as well. Though when I see someone idling at one of these, I tend to get a swarm of bad guys to follow me and lead them right to where the idle person is.

More often than not, you seem them suddenly spawn their car and take off. It can become frustrating when people idle in conflicts on purpose though. They spike the threat and give low ego level people a hard time.

The other day I went into a daily and I saw some poor 1,000 ego fighting for their life as me coming in mixed with some AFKing idiot brought the threat up to 10. I asked a couple people in zone to lag the guy out (luckily they didn't lag me out) and went their separate ways. But this is a great example of poor new guys getting taken advantage of by higher ego players.

Well it wasn't extraction because none of the players were listed as downed, but I never considered a player showing up and leaving quickly because they were getting the snot beat out of them. Still, it's just odd when you see 1 kill\no shows that many times.

Yeah, I'm worried about the low EGO players too. Whenever I showed up to one of these "leeched" arkfalls the Viscera had already spawned and all of the enemies were facing towards the direction most players would enter\exit the area from. If a low EGO goes barreling in by themselves and not knowing that site has already been compromised and the enemies are looking to crush whoever shows up first then they are just going to find themselves extracting and complaining that the event is too difficult.

I've seen some people hanging around in pvp doing nothing. I've also seen people in shadow war zones. But not actually in the shadow war. Following players around and trying to shoot them. I am almost certain this is someone's clan mate giving away position through clan chats. And the incursion event in Silicon Valley covers the entire island. Not to mention there are pursuits there for conflict areas like restless dead. Even if you wanted to stay out of the incursion you'll get credit for being there. But, yes, I have seen many people go into contract areas and do nothing tag one kill and wait for it to end. Just to get the credit for it.
