"Free riders" is a perfect description. That's a much better way of describing it because they're not actually taking anything away (leeching) from the people that complete the event, but they are getting something for nothing. Thanks.

But this is a great example of poor new guys getting taken advantage of by higher ego players.
I had this happen to me... I was doing Hellbug Horror solo at about 500 ego or something and some 5K ego dude stands there on the big rock and does nothing while I struggle because the threat level increased. I eventually finished it, but wow, what a pain! Good times, good times.

I always feel guilty if I run around doing dailies and stumble on a low level in the area. I try to equip a spanner on one of my weapon slots and stay near him. Killing stuff and keeping him alive. I mean, it's my fault the threat just spiked on him, I feel kinda responsible so I do my best to keep him alive. More often or not I get messaged about how tough the conflict was and how they loved it. -.-

But I can understand the frustration at having an a character that's 800 ego, and having the threat spike from 1 to 8 for no other reason then seeing someone sit on the edge of the zone. If it turns to threat 10, trying to do it alone with a character under 1k ego is borderline rage quit for an hour or two.

Run into this constantly, some times though I have gotten credit for an event because I ran over a mob with my car when I was heading for something else.
It does not matter who the strongest fighter is... just the last one standing.

Used to happen alot, then not so much. Now with the new stuff and holiday stuff put in its happening again. People coasting and letting others do the co-ops, or idle at pvp, and conflict stuff. I really hate doing the SV conflicts because of it. I try to understand that people do want to do all the work but all you're really doing is making it harder on those people that actually ARE trying to play the thing.

I think the one that this occurs to me on is Danger at Diablo. If I fast travel to the Lighthouse and I go flying the hill to something else in Sausalito while that conflict is going on there inevitably there are a few hellbugs wandering around outside as you cut the corner near the walls.

Or just cut through the entire facility.

It is annoying that players have to leech rather than lending aid for low ego players there were clans in the past that leeched in a way that would prevent the Arktech Revolution pursuits from ever being completed, I don't see why people don't simply do the sites when game servers are quiet if threat level is concerning but from experience many just do at threat 6 rather than slug out at threat 10

For me I stay to see the site through and keep an eye on low egoers if nearby so to revive or keep them alive longer but if Trion made staying at the site to the end & actively help more rewarding for instance awarding a weapon mod of at least rare or something like that that would make things interesting but that just me

I do this also. Though I am only 3k, I too feel guilty when I have to do a daily at either Sniper Ridge or the Academy. If I stumble onto low EGOs already doing the mission or they arrive after I have been soloing, I'll switch to my BMG/infector loadout and give them some support.

Hey, you need a little top off? Because you're pretty shot up.
Hey, you missed that one that's shooting you in the back.
    *pfft, pfft, pfft*
There you go... I got him.
    Oh, lookout... sniper!

Glad to see someone else does this too.

One of the leeching events I hate is in expert co-ops when people go into them for the double cores and just sit there while others do the fighting. Who thought it was a good idea to make so you can get double cores for doing nothing.
