    contracts

why aren't the contracts completed in your own game like main & story missions? it's pissing me off when i start a contract, then someone comes in EGO 5000+ & makes my enemies 4x harder to kill? i leave & attempt it later. i want to do them alone like my missions.

Because you're in an mmo and high egos need to do contracts to.

I understand the frustration. I have a higher ego but if I stumbled across one with a lower ego player I at least stay and help since I may have inadvertently just the the threat level.

Not really such a thing as "your own game" in Defiance. As an MMO (or a "persistent world shooter"), the "overworld," so to speak, is open to anyone at any time. Only certain situations are "instanced," cutting you off into a smaller scenario with only certain other players.

I myself MUCH prefer to play solo most of the time, including when I first started when Defiance launched, so I can understand the frustration. Just keep plugging away at increasing your own EGO, and you'll eventually notice the shift less and less, and contracts will become that much easier to deal with.

Sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.

Actually, you may consider yourself lucky if you managed to complete all main & story missions solo. It's not unusual that other players are there as well doing their stuff, besides the bosses which can be entered solo without interference of other players.

Only advice possible... Get to 4700-4800'ish EGO asap, the game will turn around for you at that point. Get to 5400-5500'ish EGO and you'll breeze through the game as if you were solo'ing it all.

When doing contracts. Tag a few enemies, get some score-points and leave the site. Just wait for the high EGO to finish the conflict site and the contract will check for you too. I know this is probably not how you want to play, it's also what others call 'leeching'. But again, the game will turn around for you at some point when you are high EGO. And as a high EGO, i fully understand those players who are on the scoreboard with 200 points and a kill, but didnt stay till the end. I dont call it leeching, being down on the ground all the time isnt all that as well.

This, a thousand times this...I'm in the 5700s and really don't care if you leave the site after killing one thing...i'll breeze through it solo no matter what...tag it and move on to the next one...if it's a mission you're doing then just hang out and let the high ego do the work...actually lay a damage spike or two for them, that way you'll be contributing but drawing less aggro
