It may be normal, but why accept it?

    Generally Speaking...

Yes… it may be normal, bugs, server crashes, an incomplete game, log in issues, and lack of timely customer service, but we should not accept it, the failed service or the lack of concern for our money and time. If you pay for anything else but an online game, like a bike, a car, live saving medication, or a cheeseburger, would you accept it upon delivery with no seat, no wheels, swapped out with sugar pills, or a bag of crap? We complain out of this thinking, if we pay for something we expect it to be as good as if we made it ourselves. So, to all the people that are hating on the haters, go away and sit on a bike with no seat, drive a car resting on sender blocks, …. (insert you imagination here) … You are just making things worse, think, if we stop complaining, and you keep lying, saying that everything is ok when it is not, things will never improve… (IMO)

people have an acute appreciation for the
price they pay for outward peace and quiet,
the permanent humiliation of their dignity”

Because MMO's are never finished EVER, if we waited they would never come out, and due to the size and scale of them, they cant find and fix many of the bugs without getting it to lots of people.

Unfortuantely if you want MMO's this is the way it is. you can complain all you want but it wont do any good, its a unique service/item with unique issues.

I like to compare MMO's to windows every time a new one comes out its said to be perfect and we all know it will take months after release for it to be stable for some. Yet people still making bill millions.

He speaks the truth. I've said it before, i'll say it again: I want to love this game. I like what I've been able to play thus far. But just because I love the idea of it doesn't mean I'm going to excuse every things as 'normal'. At some point you build on what has come before. That is how progress is made. If we never rise above mediocrity then we never get better ****. Word.

All of the situations you described are scenarios of a product missing components. That would be the same as this game being released, but not having a character model. Now, to use your own comparisons in return. Have you ever gotten a recall notice in the mail about a part on your brand new car? They screwed up in the manufacturing. Have you ever seen a recall notice on medication? They screwed up in the manufacturing.
Product flaws are a fact of life. The difference in the children and the adults is when they throw a fit because they have to take their car to the dealership to get something fixed, and when they do it without complaining.

Pointing out bugs is one thing, but being irate within the first 1-3 days is another.

Some issues by now should be avoidable, its a genre that has existed for sometime and the ups and downs are well known and could be factored in. The problem in it costs money and ultimately gamers are sheep (on the whole) and don't see **** until its completely clogged the fan.

For example : Sim City 5

Consumers new it would have launch issues due to it being (always on).
The developers new there would be launch issues on the server side.

Yet the publisher still decided to release it knowing full well it wouldn't work for most people, it chose PROFIT over customer satisfaction and sadly every time someone pulls this stunt gamers continue to pump them full of money instead of maybe just waiting a week or two and hurting them in that first week of sales.

i can understand minor bugs and issues, and accept it.

But i do not accept gamebreaking bugs or severe issues, even i understand it is an MMO.

MMO game of course is "never finished" and an evolving game world... BUT what is already here should work at least properly at 85% to 90%.

Tech Support is slow as hell, any of my requests/support ticket were answered since launch day.

I HOPE that all poor users that get server issues like complete charachter loss experience a faster support from Trion !!!!!

Though i admint on 2nd play day, 3 april, i had a blast online with Defiance and worked great for me. So props for that. Day 1 was a complete disaster for me (on PS3).....
