    Weapon Progression~

    Hello.

Could someone please explain to me when weapon progression comes into play?
I am currently still using the same LMG I found just outside the tutorial - after 20 hours of game play and reaching nearly 300 ego rating. I'm sorry - but the ONLY reason to continue putting time into a game is progression - and these repetitive quests simply don't count.

If there is no reward for time or effort dedication (in the form of gear/weapons) then why am I dedicating time? What is our incentive to play? Because some arbitrary "EGO level" simply doesn't cut it.

If anyone has insurance to offer I'd really like to hear about a reason to keep playing, or that weapon progression will come into play sometime soon. Thanks for your time.

First... once you max the XP on your weapon... you stop gaining Weapon Skill xp. So you're LMG skill is likely suffering.

Second... the base stats stay the same, but you'll find weapons with more and more mod slots, with better bonuses, with elemental effects. In an ideal world, you'll end up with a great purple/orange gun and a full set of four great synergy mods.

So not only am I not incentivized to keep looking for better gear seeing as it just doesn't seem to exist (Only gear with more mod slots for tiny reload or accuracy bonuses) - but I'm supposed to downgrade to a worse weapon just to keep levelling my "LMG" skill?

Sorry but I still don't see an incentive to keep plugging time into this, there is no progression there. If you want to make an MMO you better be prepared to offer diverse and varied customization and progression. A generic set of 1 or 2 dozen weapons with all the same stats but different mods - does not an incentive make. Where are the weapons that shoot exploding teddies? Where are the ones that shoot homing fireballs? Where is the interest at all?

Yup, this isnt wow, there are no levels, you not going to get increasingly powerful weapons, you will get different versions, you will get rarer ones with more bonus stats, but the main gun stat stays the same, mods and ego add to it.

Then can you please tell me the point of continuing to play? If there is no progression - why are we expected to keep paying and playing?

There is LOTS of customization, just because your not getting a big increase to damage doesnt mean its not there.
Every gun has many variations, from fire to acid, burst fire, grenade shells slugs etc.
then they are rarities with bonuses
then there are synergies which require speicific sets of rare mods.

You know how long its going to take you to find that perfect gun and the mods you want ? probablty a long time.
stop thinking about this like a traditional mmo, you dont need big numbers to see a improvement.

but if you dont understand i doubt we can convince you.
    personally the system is great.

Have you been doing instances? Doing world quests mostly reward you with miscellaneous green items that are rarely good, whereas you can get blue out of instances.

By the way, you get a pretty nice chunk of progression out of perks. Not as much as your standard MMO, but once you get into the center of the perk tree, there's some juicy stuff there. One perk in particular once you max it out completely changes the way you can play the game.

Anyways, you should stop comparing this game to other fantasy MMOs, and compare it to something more similar, like Global Agenda. You don't get huge upgrades in that game either, weapon upgrades are usually only in the range of like a 2% upgrade here, a 4% upgrade there.

There is progression. It's just that you need to upgrade weapons to see character growth. The new weapon will eventually get stronger but it will take time.

I am getting tired of saving miners and farmers.. I am also still using a level 150ego weapon and i am 400ego... Mods do nothings special, i found 1 orange weapon in a lock box but my purple 200ego weapon beats it outright even without mods...

p.s. You can count the types of enemies on one hand (The variety is mind blowing) .

p.s.s What type of company can not even update their launcher screen... We know it comes out on april 2nd. How about a server status or latest announcement.

    Rant over.
