This was every bit the way I thought it would go, has most mmos betas I played that got to stress test still had the same issues on launch. Its very hard to guess what your servers will do with another 100,000 people playing and logging on at once. I'm sure 100,000 is putting it light too.

Exactly what Aino said. I mean, look at Blizzard; WoW, Starcraft, and Diablo, all games with multiple expacs, and they STILL can't pull off a seamless launch. So why does anyone think Trion should?
Remember, this is in the XBOX 360 forum, we can't compare PC games to console. We just can't. Console users have expectations since our games differ from PC games. That's just how it is.

Not everyone is passive and just wait, without updates, and hope things are being corrected. We've grown eager to play this game, correctly, and yet I don't feel i've been able to do it yet, which is disheartening. You can't blame people for being bitter about this, honestly.
Yes I can blame people for being bitter about this. This. Is. Nothing. New. Every highly anticipated online game has NEVER launched smoothly. Just because someone does something and that they're allowed to do so, just because they expect one thing and get another, DOES NOT justify their reaction. Ignorance of the law does not make you exempt.

Then fine lets go to console games, new gears servers were laggy and crashing first three days, cod still has issues they had on launch, halo 4 new map pack gamelist wasn't working right this week, borderlands 2 co op games would kick people offline for the first week, my madden 13 online pass didn't work first day, should I go on?

We are discussing in an XBOX 360 forum, remember, so this is VERY new. Console users anticipated this to work, people who are not used to MMO's expected this to work. New users weren't warned of the dangers that normal MMO players were aware of. That's the facts

I understand what your saying , I do. And of course it's disheartening when you have anticipated it so much. And yes console players are usually not avid on MMO. It's those who aren't trying to understand what this game type takes to work properly. Trion is putting out there all the information in lamens' terms for those who are just bashing it and people are too ignorant

Another fact, is, as I'm sure you've seen on the forums, no matter how much we tell them, they still can't even accept it, after people tell them whats going on. They still expect it to just work. ****, I hate teenagers.
Q: So is this a “soft launch”?
A: No, we do everything hard.

THIS IS NOTHING NEW. I just said this, EVERY highly anticipated online game has NEVER launched smoothly on the xbox, PC, or PS3.

    Two Worlds
    CoD Every. Single. Version.
    Battlefield
    Crysis
    Borderlands 2
    Halo 4
    Halo Reach
    Halo 3

    This is nothing new.

COD is dependent on the host user being the server in game, and even with lag, still able to actually play. The difference with all of those, is they still had playable features. Campaigns, Story mode, Exhibition games, etc. Defiance is completely dependent on these servers, without it, the game is unplayable. If servers were down for ANY of those games, there is still playable content. In fact, the whole game is still available outside of the multiplayer aspect.

Console users are just use to being able to still get on crap servers when they aren't working as in mmos take down their servers as soon as a big issue comes up
