how many perks are we allowed to equip?

As you level up you can equip more perks. I believe 7 or 8 is max perks set.

depends on your play style: or you can grind a certain sub mission, till they patch it

well depends how you play. I am currently 330 ego rating in basically day and half without doing missions. guessing it will go fairly quick early t hen grind at end. at best even if you gain 100 ego a day that will still be 40 days. right now game has cap of 5000 and that could be raised at anytime.

it the kill the little hell bugs mission, you can replay the crap out of it, just hit gold it'll be 2 minutes

I at level 99 with only about 5 hours on the clock. A few side missions, one main mission, the rest either arkfalls or the minor encounters ( save the traders, kill the hell bugs). Anybody go a word if the profile/my ego screens here are going to list your character stats?
