Question regarding silicon valley incursions

i love how rude thy can be also. cursing at you for doing them the right way and enjoying the event insted of doing it the cheep way and loseing it just to get a broken persute compleated.

well i droped a PM to a dev, see how long it takes them to reply. (( may be some time with them not being around right now )) but hopefuly thy will be looking into it. and repairing it soon.

cant wait to find out if thy use my ideas. id love to see this changed and ill be happy for it to be. and i know alot of others will also.

I have to confess that it was only after they were added to the pursuits (or was it contracts, either way) awhile back that I began to really do them. I didn't understand the process very well and they just seemed to take too long. There were plenty of other things for me to do what with gaining XP, leveling weapons skills, contracts, what have you, that I just never took the time to learn. Now that I have learned how they work, thanks in a large part to the members of this forum, I find them great fun. It can be very challenging to protect 3 crystals with them being spread out. I 'm speaking as a solo player of.course.

As I am part of such a diverse world in Defiance, I am willing to give a little however. Go. Let the enemy break the two other crystals. Destroy the evangel and get your paltry reward, but leave me be at the third, as I will defend it to my death and enjoy the game, in as much as I can, as it was meant to be.

Finally as proof that you need do nothing to get rewarded. I was at Water Temple when I shut down last night. Fired it up this morning, I was at the spawn point outside one of the sites with a Miner Conversion in progress. Hopped in my truck and drove back to Water Temple, where I promptly started writing this post. Just a few minutes ago I was rewarded with a grand and glorious 7th Legion Gashima, green of course and useless to me as I do not own any DLC yet. How often is it something great, or even good anyway? Bottom line is, without doing a single thing, not even killing one enemy, I recieved the reward. In fact there was a Mud Turtle Jones in first place. Not sure if it is the same as the one in these forums, but it's a good bet.

the reward system is realy broken on the events. when thy go into phase 2 i feel a person shouldnt get anything from the event. as for the item. i find that the higher the score when its compleated right ( to do it right u have to protect all 3 locations and all3 crystals at all 3 locations )) you get better keys better arkforge. better xp better script and better salvage and a chance at a better weapon reward (( youll get a 7th weapon as the reward for the event but like the incersions up north youll also get other weapons that are not DLC related and if u have the DLC you get your 5 rep for beating it ))

but people dont seem to watn the good loot. no thy just want to speed run everything . but like i said. i droped a dev a pm. im wating on a reply. and hopefuly it will be good news.

i think what can fix this event. is.

1: if the crystals are taken insted of rewarding every one thy get nothing like a failed ark fall, u get a little scrip and xp and thats it.

2 : evangels get a health boost back to how thy where before we on PTS requested there health be droped because we thought that they where to strong. well now there too weak

if thy do thes minor changes. it will force thes speed runers to actualy do them right,

i also informed them of the " lazy " enamys that dont come into battle so that thy can be fixed so.

heres hopeing . for now . its a waiting game. wait and see if its fixed or wait and see if its never fixed.

The Silicon Valley hellbug incursions are broken. The event completes but does not give pursuit credit if the event does not proceed to the "kill the pheromone" phase. Both the other incursion types give pursuit credit no matter what phase you are in when the event ends, but not the hellbug ones.

I am trying to complete the pursuit, and would like to get pursuit credit. The argument that it's somehow fun to sit around for ten minutes with no enemies while waiting for the timer to complete doesn't hold water to me, but whatever floats your boat. Understand that there IS a basis to the concern of others, not just a gameplay difference of opinion.

the only reason your siting around for 10 mins is becuse you like many others havent taken the time nore care to learn where the enamys are spawned and siting. its not that hard to walk down to the road near the rift. when doing the bug one. cross said road. walk over the hill and shoot 5 hellbugs that are siting at there spawn.

its not that hard to walk down the road from crystal springs where the enamy spawns and shoot the 2 hell bugs that are siting there.

its not that hard to walk to any of the spawn locations at any of the invasion incersion locations and kill the enamy that is siting there wating for you to put a bullet though its head.

no what it comes down to. and u say its to compleat a persuit , its not. people speed run them becuse there lazy. and dont want to take the time to do them right. thy rather do them as fast as thy cant get garbage rewards for them and move on to something else.
its the same as the WM debotchary ( lockkeepers vs lockbreakers ) now its crystal keepers and crystal breakers, in the end. the community is going to be split no matter what. till this is fixed.

Been noticing players are not fighting during the prevention phase of the incursion instead turn into guardians demanding everyone to "stop shooting you ****ing noob" and "let it advance I want easy credit for pursuit" & it brings up a point that may generate debate.

what is the point of these so called "guardians" I mean these guardians did ruin the warmaster not naming & shaming saying how we are meant to play granted some incursions don't advance to the end after all enemies are beaten back from experience but to be fair other than seeing future patches there's hardly anything worth "guarding" anyway they do change during the incident anyway & loads of keys from doing both versions there isn't much or am I missing something

Play the game YOU want, so long as it does not violate the terms of service, ignore the other players. If they don't like it, they can go do something else on the map.

That said, it is easier and faster to let the miners/pilgrims build the evangels and then destroy it. The evangel building does not move, so if you use something like a Ground Pounder (you can get these easily from Solistice Strike events), a single volley will bring it down.

The Hellbugs are another matter, on the PC platform, there is a bug that will cause one of the bugs to be spawned underground or it will get stuck underground when it jumps. I've ran into this a few times. When this happens, and if you've killed all the other bugs, then you're basically stuck waiting things out. So for Hellbugs, it is best to let them eat the crystal and then destroy the stuff, just to avoid having to wait a long time.

That's the way to do it, do what YOU like to do in the game, so long as you do not violate the terms of service (eg. making threats, harassing others over religion and race etc), you're free to do what you want. Its an open world, the others can go do something else if they don't like what you're doing.

Me and someone else were doing these the other night. Doing just fine keeping them away from the crystal til a group of people showed up and drew the enemies to the the other crystals. Then hopped in their car and raced to the other location ahead of me and did the same thing. I was running up and the crystal were all going bye bye. I wasnt happy. But I guess its ok since they should just do what makes THEM happy. Screw whoever else was ALREADY THERE, playing and having fun.

thats exsactly what the last 2 people above you permote. there the crystal killers. thy dont care how others are playing thy only care how thy play. how fast thy want it done how THAY demand things to be . and dont give a damn about anyone but them selfs.

its people like them that destroy this MMO . and i strongly beleave thay dont understand the meaning let alone HOW to realy play an MMO . there MMOs for a reason. this aint halo. this aint COD. this aint borderlands. this is defanitly NOT destany. this is Defiance. this is a REAL MMO shooter that means you work as teams to acheve objectives.

the objective of the events and it says it clearly at the top is " stop the :XXXX: from destroying the crystals " that is the team mission . that is the invasions mission.

it is not the " lets kite every enamy to the crystal speed run it for our own well being and ground pound the evangels that cant attack you and do no damage to you "

but that dosent matter to thes guys. nope. its all about self satisfaction . how fast can thy do it. there the kind of people that destoryed WM for me. why let people destroy something else for me.

i wont . and i will fight for it to be fixed, like i allready am .

Yes, it does. They want it their way, you want it your way. They moved quicker than you did and finished the incursion. Don't like it? Go somewhere else on the map. That's the end of it.

You'll also have to look at it from their end: What is this chap doing? I just want to finish this, get it over and finish my pursuit.

So you prefer to sit around the shoot all the enemies? No problem, get a big clan together and defend all 3 crystals. Let those speed runners chew their own guts out trying to lure enemies to the crystal.

I've been on both end of the spectrum, when I have not reached the XP cap or max all weapon skills, I preferred to drag things out and shoot all the enemies. It made sense for me then because it was beneficial. After I've reached XP cap and max all weapon skills and was doing the SV pursuit, I just want to run it quickly. But I understand it when there are people there who prefer to shoot it out with the enemies, I just sit around and watch, or I move to the next crystal or site and do the one there.

Its not that difficult of a pursuit anyway and the incursions come up so often, I've since finished all of it.
