Eh just a thought. Since the game has yet to ship to my backwater country, which platform would potentially be the least laggy/most hasslefree update?

in my strongest opinion ps3, then 360 and pc in that order. Just my opinion from trying on all 3 platforms
After Playing WarZ for a good few months, This is NOTHING.
Its about on Par with every other MMO Release I've played. I don't think anyone remembers when World of Warcraft was taken down for a Day+ After Release. I'd say its a small few who are having Issues (Major Issues, not missing items from your Preorder and rubbish, that's just silly and of course it would be sorted.) I've been playing these past few days had a few disconnects sure, other than that I've had a bawl.
Just wish they'd fix the Marin Hotshot: Dam Defence!
Hah. This game on a Controller is Laughable.
PC > Consoles in that Order as to Which one is better. PC Lacks the necessary additional options i.e. Hotkeys and such but hopefully that'll change so its a little easier to do one or two things.
PC last o.O? Reasons? I was thinking PC would be the most user-friendly
pc last because of configurations, if your system cannot handle it, graphic problems, other background processes/lack of drivers = tons of annoyance/hassle upgrading to get working with the game. This isn't limited to slow loading times based on your hard drive, and what kinda rig your using, including the CPU< and what you run on your machine. Ps3 is simplistic most because its free first off (internet, same as pc), 2nd, ps3 has simple configs, nothing needed, just install, and run, minus the minor hassle of being a beta user (deleting install data, or manually editing the live and the beta files and parsing them).
Same concept for pc, ps3 is simplier because its easier controls mapped out (slightly more confusing on pc as more buttons = more confusion). In my opinion ps3. 360 same reason as ps3 minus you play on the internet, risk of red ring of death due to these instabilities can trigger a glitch in the phantom processors resulting in red ring of death. PC last because well... so many configurations, you need to know what your doing or have a high processing system (even 2.53ghz+) dual core cpus struggle, the gpu also struggles depending on if its shared, or unshared memory. This isn't including whats running in the background to figure out whats drawing on your cpu/gpu processes/thread handles.
Outside of that PC if you really are able to handle it, me i rarly try the pc to version to unstable for my tastes, with a i7 that struggles even though i lock all 7 threads to the process, and then 1 thread allocated to all other unnecessary tasks (ex: explorer, host, scvhost* etc...)
Edit:
PC is your best bet if your using a desktop, or a high end i7+ model. I just dont like the pc configurations, seems more hassle to me, than a simple turn on and it just works, where as pc i need to do more things and pay attention to what my computers doing*, and ps3 i just need to turn it off, ensure i have a working network line with at least 5+ mbps data stream, and im good to go (i think it can run lower) but with much lag, regardless of what platform its on*. Even on my FiOS network its still sluggish due to slow buffer rates (at least from what i can notice) Probably due to limitations per user to limit bandwith consumption*
This thread is so funny.....Always get one who brings out the refund card
"I'm Just Living The Dream"
People these days call anything an MMO when it 1) lists how many people are online and 2) there is general lobby chat.
Two examples of such games that market itself as an MMO: World of Tanks and Star Conflict. Both of which are just games with ~15 vs. 15 battles and in-game lobby chat between the battles. (the multiplayer features that RTS games have had since forever)
While I don't necessarily think the OP is due any compensation, I do know that as long as people blithely accept launch issues -- or, at least, blithely accept them for companies they like, I have no doubt whatsoever that many defending Trion were frothing at the mouth when it was Blizz or EA -- those problems will continue to be the norm.
It's a problem with software in general, we tend not to hold it to the same standards we would routinely demand of other products.
Companies will try and get away with whatever they believe the market will bear. If that means major issues in your software cause it to fail in the market, they'll be a lot more careful with what they launch then the current "Ship it, known Alpha issues and all, we'll fix it later... Maybe" attitude they know they can get away with.
Is this legit or are you just taking the piss?
The game has its problems but Its playable.
Bit of both, its legitimately going down on a constant, but their doing what they feel is "within reason of dealing with". Im a person who doesn't find that accept-able so of course im gonna point it out, flame them (the companies) hardcore, and try my hardest to hopefully get everyone else onboard with motivating the dev's to literally make their software work, and increase what they consider "safety nets" and make them MUCH MUCH bigger> Alota these issues were experiencing could have been prevented by many means assuming they woulda figured based on pre order alone how popular their systems woulda been, combine with enough users. That and the testing they did through beta, shoulda gave em enough insight on preventing this many hours of downtime. If you ask me though, This is a growing problem in the IT business, technology is moving faster than the machines can handle or people are under estimating their systems, and not throughly thinking "how can we fully prevent this much of a uproar" a few hours let alone 7+ of maintenance can definitely signify badnews bears.
Take Eve online, and Dust 514 for instance, multiple servers, hosting literally two different systems. Linking the two worlds together, and their server maintenance time is anywhere from 15minutes to 2hours TOPS, this includes getting it up and running and keeping everyone UP-TO-DATE with what their doing (including a full patch log) of what was fixed, and why. So people like me, and everyone else complaining can end our argument> This inturn helps generate a less hostile community which was previously aggravated by lesser game time due to the intense downtime from issues of this extent.
Dust 514 only took 12hours tops to fully integrate 2 separate worlds and make them co-exist on one (and their sub servers can handle the work load). They also took much things into account which is why their game eve online, and dust 514 is handling so well, even during its initial launch (despite the 1-3hours downtime overall) with just server shutdown for migration, and maintenance alone* (per day) tops*
