I have the same problem I bought the season pass today and was excpecting the stuff to be available for my character but it isnt. Its showing on my 360 as being purchased but none of the free stuff is showing up. I hope stealtyninja is write and it comes down in the daily update.
Just to let you know that ive got the hell bug cap that came with the season pass but no lockbox.
you get access to some weapons and a cap and a new species to play as well.
The Season Pass gives you a discount on the 5 future DLC releases that are coming for the game. The DLC, when each released, will be available for purchase in the marketplaces. With the Season Pass you will get all 5 for the price of 4. As far as free stuff goes, like any MMO there will be plenty of free content released. That will come as updates that will roll out server and client side updates to the game. So sit back and enjoy the ride.
ps: The weapons, cap, ect... is simple pre-order and bonus (edition and/or retailer specific) content that are day one extras, and it has nothing to do with the season pass. So no worries about the DLC. It will show up when it is announced.

The way it will most likely work is that there will be 2 versions of any DLC. One will be free, one will be part of the Season Pass. The free one will obviously not have all the features of the Season Pass, but will give all players the basics of any additions. One problem that might arise will be that in some DLC add ons, players without season pass cannot play with a season pass. Don't know about how that'll work, though. Just a guess, though. I also got the Season Pass. Also got the Deluxe Upgrade as well. Kinda feeling raw so far in spending nearly $200 and not being able to play consistently or without being booted after 30 min. I'm still holding out hope, though. My point: If you have not yet purchased the Season Pass or the Deluxe Upgrade, I would suggest holding off and seeing how things turn out in the next week or so. The same with Bits. If you need the inventory slots, there are other ways to get them (Arkhunter Training). But don't sink more cash into it till you know you're going to get some consistency. Still holding out hope...don't let me down Trion...
What usually happens in a MMO is that before a DLC/Expansion there is a world, client, and server update that preps for the new content. This makes sure everyone has what they need for compatability. Then, as you said, people who have season pass or buy the DLC will get access to whatever the special content is. I'm looking forward to see what they have in store for us. After most of the current bugs and glitches are fixed of course. All things considered, things are going about as well as I expected. The first week is always painful, but they should find their legs soon, and we'll be off running.

Like I said, even though I'm a little aggrieved at the moment, it's not really more than an annoyance. I have no trouble finding something else to do in the meantime, I would just rather be playing DefianceI know they'll get it all sorted. I just hope it doesn't have much of an effect on the TV show. As the gamers are the target audience, and many are claiming to be leaving due to the issues (even though you know most are all talk :P) I hope that it doesn't kill the TV show before it's had a chance to get past story introductions and get to the meat of the story. IF the TV show does totally bomb, it's going to effect the gameworld, as the two are connected (or so they say - guess it depends on the level of their connectivity) negatively. I think they're totally banking on having another Battlestar on their hands, and I hope they do, but these game issues may spell disaster for the TV series. Here's hoping that that doesn't happen...
There will in fact be some paid and free DLC in the coming months. My only question is what is the schedule for the DLCs? Because if we are only on the 1st or 2nd DLC by this Fall when all the new games come out along with the next gen consoles... uh, I'm not sure I want to buy the season pass.
