PC - Failed to download versions. Patch aborted.

Whenever I try to connect to the game, I login to a little "Welcome to Defiance" message which shows in the patch notes window, with a Update button underneath. I'm 99% sure my game is up to date but i click it anyway (I assume it is just making sure I AM up to date) the bar progresses the complete amount then a little message underneath saying "Fetching versions file." It does this about three times then opens a notification window saying "Failed to download versions. Patch aborted."

That's all I've been able to get since yesterday. Anyone have any info on a resolution to this?

I have a suspicion that perhaps they should of held a fully open beta instead of little weekends, just to test the server loads.

EDIT: Managed to get it to work by disconnecting net and reconnecting. Third times the charm!

EDIT:Well I got the play button to show up. When I click that the defiance window comes up then closes never to be seen again.

Same problem here. Failed to find the versions file. Patch aborted. It was working the other day...

If you look at the patch logs it's trying to find a file at update03.triongames.com and it can't find it there. The Defiant install file on Trion's Defiance download link is also looking at update03.triongames.com and that fails. If you try to ping update03.triongames.com it fails. If you try to ping update02.triongames.com you get a response though.

Evidently Trion's patch server is simply down. C'mon devs, fix the patch server please!
