but it does, clearly it does because myself and others have been playing for two days straight with no issues. the sense of entitlement stems from other issues than that friend.

Just because a game works for you does not mean it is working as intended for everyone. As I have stated several times, the game WAS working for me just fine up until this morning. I have had three nights with little issue, and today it is broken. I didn't change anything about my set up, I haven't touched my computer since last night when it was WORKING. And now it isn't.
That has nothing to do with me, or my gaming environment, something is wrong, and they should fix it. Not because they owe it to me personally, but because EVERYONE who buys the game deserves a chance to play it. And unless the people who buy the game have broken computers, or ones that can't actually handle the game, all of the people having issues have every right to be upset, and every right to play.
That's not entitlement. You want what you pay for. YOU are getting what you paid for, so YOU are happy. THEY, and now myself included, are not, and WE deserve to be upset about it.
If pointing out flaws in a game I paid 65 dollars to play is called trolling, then I guess I'm guilty as charged. Where as someone like yourself, who obviously knows the game has flaws but continue to praise it to the point of rabid defender strikes me as a bit odd. Why are you hanging on a message board and not actually playing the game. I know I would be playing it, if the game wasn't a bugged up POS.
Maybe it's just the starting areas, maybe they are starting to correct the issues, maybe all the COD kiddies are at school, but I haven't had many issues so far with items spawning today. Actually got to move forward into the story line, fight off a few hellbug infestations and enjoy the game. That still doesn't mean the issues will change, I'm sure come 3:30 est when the kiddies start getting back home the server issues will show up again. I'm sure this weekend will be even worse as more people are given the chance to play the game. Bottom line is 65 dollars should be met with a workable game, when the game has issues that prevent it from being played the correct solution is to fix the problems ASAP.
As a consumer it's my god given right to complain, I don't live in Mother Russia where I need to praise a broken product, I live in the good ol US of A, and if I spend my hard earned money on a pile of crap, It's my duty as an American to scream to the highest mountains how horrible that product is. Until such time as that product is fixed. It's part of the free market baby. Somehow the gaming industry pulls in stooges like you who think it's
"The developers are always right, we as gamers should keep swallowing the crap shoveled in our mouths."
instead of
"The customer is always right"
Umm, lets see who the real troll is, me saying the game had a horrible launch with some pretty nasty issues, some of which the developer should have been ready for, seeing as they already produced an MMO.
Or you
someone who continues to call people trolls and belittle people and their problems with the game.
Umm, lets see who the real troll is? I'll go ahead and tell you because I know you have the intelligence of a door mouse and won't be able to figure it out without help.. it's you.
People unable to log on since release, nosediving framerate, arkfall code rewards and other content not appearing, loot turned off
embarrassing chat set-up, massive audio drops, weapons stat progression broken, vehicles that don't spawn, players being killed by invisible enemies, characters falling through the world and becoming unusable, amongst other issues. But be patient guys, it's only a beta.
....oh wait.
You people somehow have a false sense of entitlement because you expected a final product to not be identical to a massively flawed beta. So much for that "new build"....
I wouldn't be saying anything if the game was called a beta, it's not, it's supposed to be a finished product. That wasn't intended for the above post, just pointing out to the people who want to claim this is a beta or alpha how stupid that logic is.
You are incorrect
If you were to buy a toaster, for example, with the intention of, you guessed it, making toast, and bring it home only to find out it doesn't make toast right, or at all, and then some apologist for the company tells you that you're entitled for expecting the toaster to, you guess it, make toast as advertised, would that be right?
Who would stand for that? Gamers apparently.
A game working as advertised is NOT my problem, that burden rests solely on the developers. Issues of "oh it's so hard to develop a game," or "oh the amount of testing required is huge," or "oh MMO's are so hard to make," are NOT my concern, nor should they be yours. Those issues are the developer's, period. THEY chose to bring a product to market, THEY get paid to work on it, and THEY receive revenue for the game. WE simply chose to buy it, based on what is promised.
The problem is NOT with gamers who expect a game that has been released to retail to work as advertised, the problem IS with people who are apologists for it, who call the other consumers entitled for being unsatisfied with a broken game.
I agree. This would be totally acceptable if it were still a beta, or if we'd paid to get into an early build of the game, but this is gold, this is ready to ship, and if it were not an mmo, and just a standalone title, it would be completely PANNED for being broken. The only difference is they have a shot at fixing it. That does NOT mean people have to be happy because they CAN fix it, it shouldn't have released this way.
But it did, and people have a right to be mad. I have faith that it will eventually be sorted out. But until it is, you better believe people are going to be upset, and rightfully so
Comparing physical items purchased to software purchased in terms of "working as intended" is a false analogy.
The scope and depth of function to which the two must comply in order to achieve "working as intended" status is SO vastly different.
