Once I got into a co-op party with a guy who thought he was only talking on clan chat -- so we got to hear his half of the conversation with his buddy. 'OH MY GOD THESE TEAMMATES ARE SO BAD, THEY SUCK' (text: hey guys I need the data recorders) 'WOW THEY'RE SO BAD' (text: thanks). We get to the end and he reads off my stats to his buddy and brags about how he totally came in first.... it was kinda funny.

    What are you talking about

First, the audio is fine, I talk in PUGs all the time with peeps. What I don't understand is.... every mic I have ever purchased has a physical on/off or mute/unmute button why the hell are people not using it? A PTT button would be ok but you are not considering that 2/3 rds of the player base and some percentage of PC users use controllers to play this game (so buttons are not in abundance, nor free hands).
People should just use the physical on/off buttons on the mic and only enable it if they actually have someone who wants to talk to them.

Last, I think a lot of people are sad and lonely...why else would they make you listen to breathing, or background etc...they must want attention...for those people I use the mute option.

The only real problem I will lend to this thread is during PvP you cant mute the sad and lonely losers.
    Otherwise in summary "Overcome"

PvP can get silly with people not realizing their mic is on, which is pretty much ever single game.
if you go to audio setting, you can turn off all voice comms, and it stays off

I just turned voice comm off till they fix it. Got tired of joining pvp maches to have trolls blaring anime and other bs over the mic. Sometimes I would leave group after the match and it would still be going even and require relogging in.

Wait those are not just voices in my head....

Ya rolling up on an arkfall and hearing 3-5 people all trying to talk is'nt too fun.
my first co-op people were talking smack in till I busted out wit teh heals :P

I am not a great sniper I also have issues dealing with recoil from some of the crazyer SMGs but shooting at other players with my tazer ...Ya i got this now shut your face and shoot the guy trying to kill your healer :P
I don't use my mic in game seems silly.
I.M.O Mic should only work in party
    it would encourge grouping
It would let encourge people to add more friends to thier lists.
And with any hope adding an ingore function would make it so i don't get into Co ops with short fused people

I laughed and almost spit up my drink . I love anime, but hate listening to other people watch it unless I am there and I hate listening to anything themed with anime music or some good music spliced into those god awful "cool my first amv" with cutscenes from anime. Got to learn to counter troll if you can send music back, something equally annoying (Youtube, turn up volume, put headset near speaker) if not more so then what you have to listen to and just be sorry for the collateral victims caught in the cross fire .

I bought a headset with a mic mute button. I realize that isn't an optimum option for everyone. However, it is something for those willing to spend a few bucks.
