Salvage Matrix deleting items?

So last night before I logged out for the evening, I put my primary weapon (assault rifle) into the Salvage Matrix to add a mod slot to it. I figured with the 10 minute timer (By the way, what's the design philosophy around that? Because it just makes me want to log out when I'm upgrading my primary weapon not switch to a new one), I'd just let it run over night.

I log back in today and... no assault rifle. Not in my inventory, not equipped. Just gone.

Are items in the Salvage Matrix being deleted during server resets? Because if so, that is really unfortunate.

Is there any way to get my gun back?

From what I've read, there was a server rollback last night; it may have rolled back to before you had that weapon.

Nope. I have weapons in my inventory that I received after that assault rifle (including one I received on the quest right before I logged out).

My game just erased about 5 different guns.... how can we fix this. it even erased both my pre order guns.... im PIZZZZED OFFFF

I had all my guns and levels and everything from last night when I logged back on today, but was missing a vehicle I bought before I went to bed (and drove around for an hour+). I kept things I got after buying the car but lost the car, so it wouldn't surprise me if the same kind of effect happened with your rifle.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, but I figured out what causes it! If you have something queued up in the matrix (eg, adding mod slots) and you then either; log out; change instance (main world to co-op mission, for example) or restart the game. Do anything like this with something in the queue and you'll lose that something. Had two dam fine ARs that I lost this way... fortunately one of them can be replaced.

Yeah, don't change district without checking your matrix.
