Thats pretty cools. What they need to do is open up some of that map with some new areas
........we ask for ages to have more of the hugely existing map to be opened up, and we end up with a tiny island thats baron known as silicon valley. ::shakes head::
Still, pretty neat find

It's pretty easy to get into that area and thus break out of the map.
It would be nice if they opened it up, even if it's just to have it open, possible have emergencies spawn there or something.
A shame to have all these finished map areas NOT in the overworld.
I mean that and the instanced islands could easily be put back on the map and throw some emergencies there. It may not serve much of a purpose but it'll make the world feel bigger.

There have been posts from other explorers from the gray area of the map, but its been a while. There used to be several groups that slipped over the invisible fence and got to the top of the strato-carrier and posted pics. There might have been one from around Halloween but I can't remember where it is, maybe one of Bell Starr's reports about Team Evil? Its fun to explore!

You must have gotten close enough to trigger a change in your extraction point.
I used to know of a hole on the wall in the northeast (fixed now); I've been to the other side a few times to explore. If you went too far you'd be sent back to your extraction point.

Was on top of Stratocaster last night, when did they add all those explosions going off up there, never used to be like that, in fact it was seeing the explosions going on up there from new earth camp that prompted me to investigate

hmmm another person that found the back door into the start area, broveo just never exsplane how you did it. o.o i like going there to hide when im not doing anything in game. its a nice kick back spot to relaxe . realy fun how you can go inside some of the " props " in the area.

I like exploring too though Defiance seems to have more barriers against that sort of thing than most other games I have played. Having no falling damage is nice though in case of slips.
One thing I have noticed is that Defiance is more solid than most in terrain and buildings; one other game I play has great visuals off the beaten path from a distance but when you get up to them large parts are phantom (most games seem to fall somewhere between these two). They could remove those annoying invisible barriers most places and it would improve immersion rather than break it. Its not like you would fall through the world like some others (like when I ended up trapped under the capital city in one game and could not get back out without logging out and back in).
I suspect that the islands are just as solid if they would remove (or push back) the drowning barriers.

idk what hasn't already been explored by players. There was a time when Defiance had a few months of having no new content and Defiance was in a rough spot leading up to DLC 1. With nothing really to do players started to break out of the Map barriers to look around.
I do think the tutorial area is one of the coolest if not the coolest looking area in the game. And rightfully so as its the opener to the player and its made to get them psyched for the game.
But sadly that area is only for the tutorial. I think that area would make a awesome Capture and Hold Map for PvP as it has lots of cover due to ship parts, rocks, and foliage to block line of sight. Along with variable levels of height in terrain and interconnected pathways which leads to multiple approaches throughout the area. Not only this but its open at the same time leaving a lot of space to move around but at the same time not to huge of a area to make it to barring to slow down the action. For a 16 v 16 Cap and Hold Map it would be killer.
