There are alternative ibook readers though, I just don't want to install itunes, even temporarily in order to download it.

Also its said to contain videos and stuff as well as codes? Hope its not just arkfall codes but stufg we can get by entering them ingame.

It's for the iPad as it is a interactive book, not a simple eBook that the standard Kindle could display. Dunno if the Fire supports such media or not.

Had to download it directly through itunes on my computer instead of getting off the appstore on the ipad. Blah.

Just finished downloading and opened it up. It starts off with a video so not really Kindle friendly.

Against better judgement I am now downloading itunes, in an attempt to download the ebook and play it with an alternative reader of some sort.

I have taken a look at it, it is in Apple's iBooks format, so it will only work on iPads. There is no desktop reader for this format.

But what you can do is change the file's .ibooks extension to .zip, unzip the file, and browse all the media. There's about 500 MB of video, that's most of the size.

There is also a folder called Thumbs that contains thumbnail views of all the pages. It is probably too small to read some of the text onscreen, but you can see what all the pages look like.

Odd that they'd put codes into media designed for an iDevice or Mac that will not work on a PC, yet they do not support the Mac as a gaming platform.

Interesting marketing strategy there.
