I sent an IM asking for clarification to Sledgehammer70, so hopefully I'll hear something back from him in a day or two so we can all plan/play smartly. I'll be sure to pass on the information as I get it.

Going to keep posting this until people get it through their heads instead of replying with veiled insults and snarky attitudes.

The weapons and weapon stats along with Loot tables are a few months old and do not reflect the final launch settings. How about we revisit your concerns once the final game is launched.
Exact quote from sledge in a thread where a user asked for a difference in base weapon damage between a ego level 1 item and a higher ego weapon. Now please illustrate how weapon stats have changed from the beta.

Do not take this post as hating the system or not understanding how the system works or wanting to play world of warcraft. He said one thing, we got something else. This deserves an explanation.

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Well honestly to each his own. If you like gear progression based games that's great more power to you. If you don't then hey awesome that your choice. Point is you cannot bash on a game for not have gear progression if it was never intended to be there because if the Devs intended it to be there it would be.

The days of just one standard of MMO are over and done with and horray for that! It means there are more choices for us the gamers. If the MMO does not fit your style of play or likes then just don't buy it. Do the proper research, join up in betas, watch videos or hell just wait until the game is released and reviews are out. If you purchase the game and are not happy with game its going to be your fault for not being a smart consumer period.

    ^Arsenic,
The OP wants to know if there's still progression of the CLASS SKILL once the weapon damage meter is maxed out. I've got weapons that are maxed and still giving CLASS XP, some other people do not.

If you recall from the Alpha/Beta, this was something the Dev's where supposed to fix and get nailed down, but we haven't seen anything on it yet.. hence why I IM'd Sledge directly to get an answer about it so we can play/plan accordingly.

No... he clearly mentioned better loot and nothing about the damage meter, you're thinking about a different thread.

Ok...thats not true and your trying to roll the weapon progression curve into the whole game. That's not being fair. There is progression.

The Ego 2000 is going to have more perk slots, more perk choices and better weapon proficiency bonuses from being say Skill 8 on LMG vs. Skill 2.

Weapons wise they will not be huge differences. The highers ones will have a few more bonuses. But it will be a bit better. Also the higher player will have more money and resources to add more mod slots to weapons making them better. Also...the higher Ego rank player will have over time acquired more high quality mods.

If you start adding up all these little "bonuses" they add up. Im glad they did it this way. If they made Ego 2000 guns do 5 times more damage then Ego 200 weapons the whole game would be horribly out of whack. PvP would be totally busted. Ark Falls would be totally dominated by the higher rank players. Instances would never work with large Ego gaps as either the high rank guy would be one shotting everything or the low guy would be barely scratching everything.

There is alot that has gone into this. People need to consider that.
/signed I've noticed people are killing mobs faster than me with the same weapons. When I noticed this I was ego 120 and the others were over 200. There is progression, it's just not as obvious as most games. I actually like the way they did weapons and the ego system. I don't fully understand it, but after getting to 400 and seeing the better weapon mods and the ego unlocks... It's starting to grow on me. I never played the betas so I can't comment on that. The interface is kind of wonkers, so It's hard to figure out what the hell is going on with mods and the like.
