I too would like to see a Hotkey for loudout switching. One can switch between loadouts fairly quickly by using the menu so if the issue is instant switching with a Hotkey then adding a 1 or 2 second delay should solve that.
Absolutely agreed. A hotkey like this is desperately needed.
Changing loadouts should be a process, like obtaining ammo from crates. It should take a few seconds (like 3-4), whether you do it manually or with a hotkey. In that case, a hotkey would be GREAT![]()
We urgently (!) need:
- Graphics settings for PC. The High/Mid/Low is just terrible.
- Need better item management, like select multiple items for breaking down to resources.

This 'issue' is related to many issues: Defiance is clearly primarily designed around console play, and the load out swapping turns out to be clunky like many other menu/interface elements that should be simpler and more intuitive on a PC.
Quick fix in the meantime: set loudout screen to a mouse hot key button, a couple quick clicks, and bam, near instantaneous
load-out swap, but a one button load out swap is more appropriate for a PC.
Yes, a delay timer would help offset the ease of this proposed idea, but I'm not sure how it stacks up to the current price you pay, that is, risking your neck for a split second by stopping to open the menu. Either way, I feel it isn't insurmoluntable
Woah, mouse cursor scripts? This is a f$%&ing console game, so they will control it by the D-Pad. Means for PC using the good olde keyboard:
L,W,W + A/D
Means:
Loadout (cursor starts always on primary weapon)
W, W (moves the cursor to the loadout item)
A/D activates the left of right loadout counted from the active one.
You can script it, but the game implementation is a mess and depending on server lag, sometimes it won't work when the loadout screen opens not fast enough.
I remapped loadout to Q (I weapon swap with mouse wheel) and can now change the loadout easily on the fly.

(I can't be the first one using this procedure...)
RIFT already has this system, and it utilizes a delay as well. There's no reason why Defiance should lack this!
