Defiance Spotted in SteamDB

Not sure if this has been posted or not, so I'm sorry if it's a re-post! Defiance was spotted in the Steam database, which definitely suggests it will be heading to Valve's digital delivery platform. Excerpt from the story at http://www.defianceforum.com/news/23...steam-database

The database can be browsed at http://steamdb.info/, where they compile a mass amount of information on games that are listed internally to appear on Steam. If we're lucky, occasionally we get confirmation on games that haven't even been announced yet.

In this case, Defiance has been announced but not confirmed for Steam. At this time, the only way we know that players will be able to play is through the independent Trion Worlds launcher. However, it looks like that is about to change, according to Steamdb.info, the game may be coming to Steam after all.

I hope there will be a way to link it to steam if we pre-ordered. I always end up buying a game just before a steam version comes out (which usually has exclusive items)! Bad luck, I guess.

They also spotted the first three Halo games in the Steam database. Look how that turned out.

I know Defiance being on Steam is probably just a matter of time since they have Rift there as well. But don't say "definitely" just because there's an entry in the database.

Yeah I wouldn't get too excited just yet. I imagine since it's available on Origin that it'll make it onto Steam. But then silly things have happened in the past.

There are a lot of games that show up in the database and aren't on steam.

Halo, being one of the most recent to get people all riled up for a halo release on steam and PC.

Baldur's Gate was another one, it had a database entry for over a year before it was eventually added to steam.

I don't think it's a reliable source of information, but it's still information nonetheless.
