Can not get past the launcher. Game will not load.

I cannot find the thread, but some people were having similar issues with the 314.22 drivers. They had mention success by re-installing an older beta driver such as 314.07. Older drivers can be found here: C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver

I found the same thread and went back to 314.07 and I'm still getting the black screen. For the sake of boredom, I let the game sit there for about 20 minutes and it finally did load the character screen but the screen was green and only the buttons were visible. I clicked "play" the game locked up again and blacked screen. Waited 30 minutes and eventually had to restart the computer to gain use of it again.

I had the same problem as you. I ran msconfig, turned off all my crap I didnt need running on startup and now it loads. However I'm getting a critical error saying the server isn't up. I don't see in the server status where the servers are supposed to be down so now I'm looking into this issue.

2 questions for you guys.

1. After pressing "play", does Defiance.exe actually start for even a second. You can verify this by having the processes in task manager shown.

2. Are you guys using any kind of anti-virus? Sound like something is blocking the program from starting. You gotta rise your system bareback, son!

Sorry I did not notice this thread took off over night. To answer your questions:

1. The defiance does start for a second. I get an all blank white window that says Defiance Client Build 450399. That window stays blank then disappears after about five seconds. Then nothing happens.

2. I am running anti virus. Will try to turn off and then try again.

i get a..'name and password ' error message.

i'll check back next week, i dont think this will get fixed any time soon. there are so many problems inside the game i figure they will leave us outside for a while.. cause they dont need anymore complaints about the inside of the game.

UPDATE: their patch fixed it.. playing now no problems
