    Caught a little off guard

I think more people bought this game than Trion was anticipating. Its a good game but the waiting in queue and server crashes have really made me a little upset. I played Rift a long time and I know Trion will fix these issues but it is a little frustrating right now. Anyone have any thoughts?

Well, as of about 3 minutes ago they took down the servers for a patch(30 min downtime). I think it's a good thing, it means more people are playing the game than they thought would. I'm happy as long as there are more people around, I'd hate to end up in a situation where I'm waiting 30 minutes just for a co-op map.

I agree with that. I am just saying they were not prepared for the amount of people who actually bought the game

I think it is good on TRION that we are seeing patches this quickly across all platforms. They really do have the intention of keeping this game afloat for the community that chooses to adore it. Being a console player, I've somewhat shied away from MMOs, but this one is very interesting regardless of how unstable launch weeks can be.

As far as my very limited knowledge goes, the server queue is a bug. If you get it; log out and then back in, it'll go away.
It's only happened to me once, was number 152 with a 5 hour and 52 minute wait time, did the log out/in and it was gone.

And here is where I find out about patches and stuffs. ---V

Also noticed that they inform you that the servers are down via the patchin' client nows, which is always nice.

They announce it in-game 15 minutes before the servers are brought down and announce the downtime (in this case 30 minutes). I too think they may be a bit surprised, but that is probably because they didn't realize how much attention the TV show was getting and how much of that was carrying over. Not to mention the lack of shooter-MMOs is going to take a huge chunk of people who don't traditionally play MMOs (as you can tell by the amount of launch complaints), something that hasn't been really attempted since Planetside which was never really marketed.

With most ppl getting the game through pre-order they should of had a very good idea of what to expect. If anything they should of had an open Alpha after the last Beta to test how well they handle large number of players.
