One can only hope this is true. The sooner, the better.
No more console restrictions transfering to PC and nothing developed directly for consoles, like the "fast loadout switch" radial menu and others like it.
Woohoo.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it's not happening.
So, I guess you will have to put up with us lowly console players for a while longer.![]()

"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"
"Crap!"
Did I read that correctly? That's pretty selfish don't you think? You do realize that even if they pulled the plug on the console versions of the game that the additional resources needed for their upkeep would be released and not re-directed to making the PC version better. If you read into the careful wording of the comments made by the devs on these forums it's quite obvious that management is happy with the status quo and views committing additional resources to this project as a waste of capital. It's called reaching the point of diminishing returns and the devs have been scrupulous about talking around it.
For me, I'm OK with it as long as they prioritize the bug fixes and add new & interesting content every couple of months such as holiday events and the upcoming Alcatraz update. I just wish they used a proper bug reporting system so that it would be easier for us to keep track of and report bugs. It would provide a more structured way to actually report bugs instead of using forum posts and enable players to view the status and priority of the bugs we are experiencing. Also, if the bug system contained a voting system module it would not only help the devs prioritize the bugs by what is causing the most pain for us but also give us a sense that we are actually being paid attention to. Unless they already have a public bug reporting system in which case you can ignore this whole rambling paragraph.![]()
In terms of business, MS and Sony will continue to support those online systems as long as they are profitable.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are still up by 2020.
Either way, I imagine the services will be alive far longer than this game, that is unless they port to the new systems.
It may be fine now, but eventually, the services will shut down and the majority of players will move to new systems, but I don't expect that to happen for at least 4-5 years.
I could be wrong obviously.
Proof or it never happened????
Come on then......Lets av it!!!
