I think the point is, this game took an MMO format and put it in bite sized form. If the game compared to other games is smaller than them, it's safe to assume as time goes on and it gets larger it'll still be a fraction of the size of other MMO games.

I've seen F2P MMO games bigger than this one, that isn't a bad thing as aside from the bugs and other issues (of which I'm sure they'll fix) the game feels new and unique.

The game was advertised as a MMO. This stands for MASSIVELY multiplayer online. The game is a MO, a multiplayer online game.

So because every other restaurant has delicious food, means mine has to as well right? Some of the things I read on this forum are just embarrassing.

You Paid $60 for a game right? And that's absolutely it, right? I'm not sure what people are so disappointed, most retail games are just about as long as Defiance, and cost the same amount of money.

The only difference here is; Defiance is coming out with a bunch of new content for free, and some paid. So, on top of the $60, and not having to pay a fee to constantly stay online in game with loads of other players, you pay a one time fee, get free this and that, here, and there. So, it's a little confusing as to what you'd expect when you bought a game that was a one time fee with no subs.

Surely you didn't expect something that was worked on over years, and years, like Guild Wars 2 did you? Not to mention, it's hard to take note of any online "Shooter" game out there that has attempted this, and been successful. Most MMO shooters, have you pit in constant PvP, and or, you just select a lobby, join the room, and have your 15 mins of fame. While Defiance, is actually an open world with hundreds of players around you at once, where you can literally do pretty much anything you want, whether it's open world PvP (Shadow Wars), or instances, or just simply running around and helping people out as you see fit in the open world.

I'm not even sure if you've noticed the entire grayed out area on the world map either. In my personal opinion, "If" that all comes out in due time, and for free, you're definitely getting a great bang for your buck.

Either or, I don't care, this has just turned out to be another Guild Wars 2 Cry Fest, where everyone and their dog rushed to "End Game" only to find out, there is no end game, and quit. It's been done, and seen before.

If people wanna rush, cry, quit, let em. The game is perfectly solo-able in my experience. So... R-C-Q, I guess.

What makes this not an MMO? Massive? The world doesnt have to be huge by any means. Defiance has a descent size for just now being released, maybe you should walk everywhere and not use fast travel or a vehicle and tell me how long i takes to cross from north to south.

This game will expand with the TV show, if you hate this game and all you do is complain, dont bother playing the game...

I played Guild Wars 2. I got to level 80 in about 3 weeks. I'm going to complete Defiance in about 4 days without rushing it. I even paid less for Guild Wars 2.

And you're telling me to not complain?

This is what I was thinking as well. What's there now would be like the precursor to the actual content, which should roll out with the TV show. At least that's my understanding anyways. More or less like an "introduction" to the story and what's to come.

Size does not matter - for computer games. How many times you played "big" area MMO and felt bored, that maps were stretched just for a sake of feeling big. Thing is that you can have 1 room and have more to do and more to see than sometimes house with multiple rooms and be bored with just few interesting things to see. Besides whenever they mentioned Defiance they said: Its is shooter FIRST and MMO second.
I played MMOs from DaoC, EQ to new crap and finally I feel excited again in Defiance. Tired of all copy / paste crap MMOs around.
And i feel like you are thinking to much about size of map rather than having fun in game. Hm most likely you have issues with size somewhere else so I can see how this can bother you.

And finally for me after all this years: Achievement, gz me, finally I fell for little annoying internetz troll.
