I don't regulary play online games that even have a friend's list. the only ception would be Pso2 which I talk to my friends through a skype call. For the most part i play singleplayer games.

alright.. mics DON'T HAVE TO BE REMOVED.. AND IT WONT BE REMOVED. i don't care for mics, ive been playing mmo for a long time, swtor,guildwars2,silkroadonline,dcuo and more, ive never used a mic on those.

but for those that likes using mics.. i feel ya.. this needs to be fixed ASAP!!
and for the ppl that are saying to use skype,yahoo messenger or whatever instead.. um nooooo! lol. JUST FIX THE DAMN MIC ISSUES.

The group voice chat is still not working for me. I was in a group and it worked for like 10 mins then it cut out. So unless I'm doing something wrong. I would say voice chat is still down.

I'd prefer Voice chat be removed from the game altogether.
People need to use a damn keyboard or shut the hell up.

Really, that has to be one of the most ignorant things I have ever heard of, a Shooter MMO with no voice chat is terrible. If you want to use a keyboard be my guest but I for one will not go back to the early 20th century. Even the text in game is awful, it takes like six commands just to say hi, and with no predictive text it feels as if your entering a code every time you speak. If Trions Dev team doesn't fix the issue of the Voice chat this game is going to die, its unfortunate but its true. Nobody except your elite computer nerds will want to text all the time in the middle of Ark falls. Plus trying to explain to new players where to go and how to use there skills plus weapons and weapon lvls is a true pain seeing that Trion only put the bare bones into the tutorial. When I played the BETA's I told them to hold off realease until all these issues where fixed. They told myself and others and I quote "All issues concerning the Audio chat are working perfectly on the final version of the game, the beta tests where just a server stress test" with that said, I am weary of what the future holds for this MMO. Great concept good design but lacking programming. Thats what happens when something gets rushed, but anyway enjoy your text chat. I for one cant stand it's terrible mechanics.

Cause most of the day I deal with stupid annoying loud ***** at work. I don't feel like coming home and dealing with stupid annoying loud ***** when i'm suppose to be relaxing playing my games.

And yet here you are being exactly the kind of person you deal with at work on an, albeit less audible, medium. Just because you don't want chat, doesn't mean the rest of us want rid either. Personally, I'd have liked my game to come with a years supply of spiced rum; however, they don't seem to do bespoke games last time I looked.
In contrast, I don't deal with anyone at work really, so having friends to chat and laugh with is my way of relaxing with MY games. I played the Beta, and was worried that the chat wouldn't work at all in the game. For me, with this type of game, its really important and made me think twice about buying it. And even though its not perfect at the moment, its better than nothing.

Still, besides a few issues the game amazed me by launch, most MMO's start off worse and need a complete make-over over time. The game works and thats a great start, the server (well the EU-one for sure) are stable!

Glad Sledge came down from his tower to assure me in my biggest issue in this game, the unstable voicechat. Nice, most dev's/representatives wont take the time to address a complaint on the forums and clarify. Good to see they actually care! Played Evony for years, they didnt even respond to direct complaints mailed to them through the supportpage. Unless you reclaimed your paypal-payment for coins lol, then you did receive a mail and an accountban hahaha

Anyways, voicechat is big for me. By the time i get my fingers on the keyboard ill be shot 200 times and find myself back at the extraction point. I hate typing while playing and will most likely not even read the chat, any chat. Let alone respond to it through chat. For me, no mic = no game.
