Not sure this comment had ANYTHING to do with my comment! Still, how will new people learn how to do War Master right if they are kept out of WM by those who belong to clans specializing in the big monkey (I'm safe, my clan does!)! And how will the game survive if we don't have new people who are kept intrigued in the game by such events as War Master?
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

I believe if someone wants to learn, he/she will find a way. There are many guides on the forum. If they are good, they can solo. If they are not yet so good, there is a goal for them to work toward.

I might reintroduce the Warmaster training clan idea again if this becomes a prominent issue.

I don't like waiting any more than you do, but if there are people in other clans that want to bring backup I won't rush things. What you said basically amounts to "I'm impatient" and impatience is a big reason people rush the WM and then fail miserably. That is not "fun" for people who actually want to succeed against the WM. I guess it's the same lock breakers vs lock keepers thing, but that post was wrong and is still wrong.

So count me a 'lock keeper' even though I can point farm him all day long. I prefer a zergmaster to a failmaster and waiting is the courteous thing to do, so I just alt tab and do things on my second monitor. You know what else is great? Not BMG spamming, some clans I see do it much more than others. Too bad some people don't know how to point farm failmasters without griefing other players.

i was against private wm sessions, but since the wm has been buffed a few times in the last few weeks, it is becoming very hard to organised a winning run, even with a very powerful clan behind me.

the f2p noob really dont do themselves any favours, so stuff em, they can join a clan and learn how to do it properly, or not at all.

The same way we learned to beat him when he was introduced.

Believe me, we had several runs that were learning experiences. We learned from our mistakes and proceeded to beat it on every run.

If a newer player wants to learn, they'll seek out the advice from seasoned players. If they want to troll, they'll expose themselves very quickly.

A lot will depend on how they implement private instancing. If private instances take up open map space without generating an open instance along with it new people will get used to seeing the wrecks without teleport points around them and ignore the things as just some kind of scenery.

If it is completely invisible from the start to those not in the group then there will be nothing but the phantom spike and thumbtack sparkling in an empty field, and people will simply pass the uninteresting spot by without even knowing what the sparkly thing is unless they have the DLC. The game would just look more empty than it does now, which is not good for keeping new people from leaving. Worse, it might even take up an event slot with nothing to show for it on the map.

If it just stacks with open WM arkbreaks and the private instance splits off at the “enter the wreck” phase, the new people will probably go inside after everyone clears the outside for a few of them and find themselves alone and unable to complete it or leave except by logging out or crashing the game with task manager and will avoid them thereafter. Even now that happens to some extent when one enters with others and gets split off to an empty instance.

Most likely new people will not learn about fighting the warmaster from experienced people at all unless they (by pure chance) are in a clan that does a lot of monkey hunting. Chances of that are rather low since most new people are offered a clan membership very early on in the proliferation of tiny obscure clans that has been happening lately.

That often spurious membership keeps them from joining other clans unless they leave the obscure one first (and it seems to even block new clan invitations from appearing in some cases) and if the obscure clan is not active many forget that they are even in one. The simple fact that they have a clan name banner already will make others less likely to even offer membership anyway.

Assuming that people will read tactics advice in the forum is wrong; most players never use the forums of the games they play (and from what I have heard Defiance is no exception) so only a few would even think of looking for them here.

Nice thought, if only the clan system implementation was not such a mess that new people would probably not even know about the clan. I suppose that training clan members could advertise a lot in zone chat and make the matter known a little better though.

I hear ya. There's a ton of good ideas floating around in the suggestion category, but it feels like it all falls on deaf ears. You can post non stop, but it gets to a point where you know that 99.9% of it is ignored. And we all turn cynical.
