The amount of mmo's I've had the pleasure of being at the opening day. And still never suprises me what people say and ask for.
When things don't go 100% right. It'LL be right. I'm working lates this week so missing all the problems. So not bothered and wish trion well.
So apparently our boosts are going to be extended, at least that's what I got from part of today's news post "Theme of day 3...". Not because of the whining either, just being empathic if you will. Let's not forget that they want to play their game too and some of them are on XBOX as well...they indefinitely know things are wrong and are fixing them faster than any other console game does.
I am not going to be rude like the other people. The only thing I want is what I paid for. I don't know this to be true but I have the Ultimate Edition and the timers on the boosts are depleting and I think they are depleting while their is server errors and we can't access the game. I believe if anything, it would be nice to get those times restarted but to be fare they should give us the time back that we wasn't playing because of server errors and not the time back when we was playing. I do agree with the post that I want the game to run smoothly and I understand MMO's have issues in the beginning but lets be fare about everything. I would like a apology after everything though. I think that would be respectful to the ones that have seat by patiently waiting
I don't think we should get anything honestly. Would I like something extra? Yes. Should we get something extra? No.
Look, this is actually one of the smoothest MMO launches ever and if the problems persist past week 2 (or rather the major upcoming patch around the 15th) then maybe we should get something. If fixed by then, then no because they would have succeeded by the time most MMOs take to start fixing the same problems.
Honestly i dont give a crap about this being the smoothest mmo launch all i knownis i paid 60 for this game along with the 1000 people who have read just this thread thats over 6k yes they want to make us happy and all we deserve is a good smooth running game..... on day one bugs r o e thing but no t playable at all is somthing else trion has alrdy made millions on this game so shelling out and item or two is not asking for much.
Its not just server issues chat issues matchmaking issues group issues teleporting to friends. Lag. No loot from arkfalls is sorta fixed its the combo of all of it when the servers do work the games to buggy
Im sure in a few weeks or so itll be bad *** but the game shouldnt have been releassed till then theyres just toooo much wrong
And if every mmo has this problem u dont think it should be corrected ahead of time ? Mmo arent new they should have forseen this
Do you realize just how expensive a game is to make? Especially cross-platform and an MMO? Millions could be nothing.
Most of what is wrong is stuff they need a large server load to truly test. On top of that, they needed it released before the show.Im sure in a few weeks or so itll be bad *** but the game shouldnt have been releassed till then theyres just toooo much wrong
The kind of programming and development that goes into an MMO inherently causes problems. There are NO ways to avoid them. You could have 100$ billion and a decade, and you are going to wind up with similar problems. The true test of an MMO's development team (besides the gameplay content/features/quality) is how fast they fix these problems. Compared to the norm, they are fixing issues lightening fast, and even informing us as they do (though many don't read the stickies or in-game messages and realize this). And if every mmo has this problem u dont think it should be corrected ahead of time ? Mmo arent new they should have forseen this
It doesn't take millions of dollars to make a MMO. Especially if you consider multiple platforms. It's cheaper than you imagine really.

OMG this has to be the most uninformed statement I have heard in a long time. MMOs are notoriously the most expensive games to produce and take several millions to produce and support. Why do you think 38 Studios went under, because of the immense cost of producing a MMO. And making it on several platforms like this only increases the cost as you have to code it for each system (PC, PS3, and 360), have servers for each version since they are not cross-platform, and make netcode for each different version to take into account the differences in the network architecture. There is absolutely no way you can produce a quality MMO for under 1 million for even 1 system, much less 3 different ones using different servers.
