Character Rollback?

I just logged on tonight to find the pursuits that I got last night (aka early this morning) were undone. I'm not sure how far back in it rolled back to but I was over 100,000 meters driven (I was obviously doing races and such) and now I'm around 63,000 meters. Several races are now left undone when I spent a while getting gold on them. I submitted a ticket in game but I kind of lost the desire to play for tonight because I was hoping to finish my Pedal to Metal pursuits as a goal for tonight :/
Hopefully I will get a response by the next time I am able to play.

logged into the game from my laptop on lunch noticed my characters progress has been rolled back since being booted offline last night. This isn't the end of the world for me but i have lost a good solid 4 hours of progression.

Has this happened to anyone else?

ya it was the same with me i just logged off a bit ago after my 6th ps3 crash I PROLLY WONT BE ON untill i hear something from the support team as i cant risk my hdd on my console from hard reboots. I understant its a new game but dear god we get more info from other players in the forums than we do from their whole freaking support team

I too have a character rolled back, didn't crash or anything, I just played a few hours last night and logged out. Tonight I logged in missing about 40 EGO levels, an EGO skill point and a bunch of weapons I picked up, but my inventory was chock full of a bunch of things I had sold or broken down to salvage.

Yes, something very similar happened to me. I started another thread on the subject, but it was suggested I consolidate here.

In my case I noticed my skills were messed up, I have not added up the ego points between them to see if I have the proper number, just that I had to re-spend two points and then re-equip the perks I was using. A bunch of my weapons were missing from inventory, and I had a bunch of junk in inventory that I recognized as things I sold or stripped down for salvage. I didn't think th check pursuits, but I did notice that all of the side missions I had done were missing from the map (as if they had been completed) so they were not present for me to re-do and try and re-earn the things I had gained from them. It seemed to keep my current quest progress, while largely affecting my character abillities and inventory.

In writing my previous post on the subject I was operating under the assumpsion that this rollback was intentional, other MMOs have done this when addressing problems. Typically it's announced though. I simply figured there was some kind of a patch or update while I was offline and then simply rolled the game back. Something that shouldn't have happened in this game given how it works, being based more on a loot RNG that specific drops or quest rewards, it's not simply a matter of re-doing a few hours of content, the problem being made worse by the game itself not also resetting the quests it was erasing my progress from (ie I could not do them again to regain the exps, script, etc...).

To be honest when I logged back in, I was right where I remembered logging out, and it wasn't until I headed off on a quest, ducked into a fairly safe area and tried to switch a weapon into my current loadout and found that my inventory was differant than it should have been (and the weapon I wanted was gone) that I noticed the problem. It was at that point it "registered" that I for some reason had 30 lockbox codes (I used all of mine before I logged), and that even the mod slots I added to some of the weapons I still had were gone, along with a number of mods as well. Basically I wound up losing a ton of progress.

If this wasn't an intentional rollback by Trion, then we're looking at the great grandpappy of all MMO bugs. Whether this is a bug or an intentional rollback from the Trion team that hadn't really though about how a rollback in Defiant is FAR differant from other MMOs in the scope of what it does due to the nature of the game, it's pretty bad. I've put like 20+ hours into the game and honestly I don't want to invest more time in it if my progress is just going to be erased this way.

I'm hoping we'll get a response from Trion, and either something in the way of account/character restoration or some kind of compensation for the losses. Truthfully though that's secondary to simply wanting enough stability to know I'm not going to lose all my progression, I mean sure, losing a bunch of stuff is annoying, but I can doubtlessly recover, I just don't see the point if I'm going to be at risk of losing all the stuff again to rollbacks (however they are caused).

Defiance is a cool game, I was having a lot of fun with it, and invested $125 (game, season pass, and $25 in bits, I didn't get the collector's edition though), but at the end of the day it's entirely pointless if I can't rely on my accomplishments and character development/loot collection remaining.

I stayed up late and got kicked when the server shut down for update, logged in today and had to start over from 6 or 7 main missions back from where I was.

My items were still there... but main mission progress got rolled back really far.

Edit: Only thing that got rolled back was my main mission progress, nothing else.

I just had another incident, while playing again (first time I've been on since the first problem) the game crashed and put me in a queue to get back in. I restarted the game and was able to get right back in, but when I returned part of the progress I made right before the crash was gone. Namely I was missing 4 lockbox codes I had gained (I had gained some from a "Feeding Frenzy" event right before a "Skitterlings" event, but the last award of codes which was 4 disappeared. I noticed my counter had gone from 38 down to 34).

No offense here, but Trion needs to respond. Something is really wrong with this game even if it's only affecting a relatively small number of players. There is no way this game should be released with this kind of thing happening. I am really having trouble finding the motivation to play, and it's going from being annoyed with a bug to feeling like I've been cheated. I mean, I expect a new MMO to have it's problems, but this is crazy, and the complete and total of Dev response on the forums is disturbing to say the least as this is the kind of problem that cuts the heart right out of the game.

So really Trion, are you paying attention to your forums? Have you read these messages? Are you working on a fix? Will you annouce it when you have one? Right now I've given up any hopes for compensation in game, I just want to know when it will be okay to play without getting my progress rubber banded.

I'm about to give this one more shot with my limited play time for today, but really if something like this happens again and I notice I might very well be done for the forseeable future.

Had this happen to me as well. Would like to know what is going on here. If it was intentional, why? If it was a bug, is the cause fixed?

SOME response is absolutely needed for an issue like this.
